After nearly seven weeks of lockdown, golf courses in the Algarve started to reopen again from Monday, 4th May. Restrictions are in place to maintain social distancing but that has not deterred golfers desperate to get back on the fairways from getting out their clubs and trying to find some kind of swing!!

We, at Rentagolftrolleyalgarve, welcome this news and hope that other countries will soon be opening their courses as well. We then await resumption of flights and the reopening of hotels, etc. then the golfing fraternity can again enjoy the fabulous courses in the Algarve.

Rentagolftrolleyalgarve wishes all our clients who are here in the Algarve entered into the European Seniors Tour (The Staysure Tour) Qualifying School at Pestana Golf Resort; which starts on Thursday, 23rd January the best of luck in their attempts to achieve a Tour Card for the coming European Seniors Tour.

The First Stage contested over 36 holes on Pestana Silves and Gramacho courses (23 & 24 January) and the Final Stage over 72 holes at Pestana Vale da Pinta course (27 - 30 January). At the end only 5 Tour Cards can be gained!!

A tough test of golf and those who succeed deserve their prize of competing on this years’ Staysure Tour.

Congratulations to one of our clients, John Kemp from Woburn Golf Club, on coming second at the Staysure European Seniors Qualifying school which ended today at Pestana Vale da Pinta golf course.
John, an amateur golfer, came through the 36-hole Stage 1 last week coming top out of 150 other hopefuls. The 72-hole Stage 2 held at Vale da Pinta with a stiff breeze making scoring difficult kept in touch with the leaders all the way through, starting the last round in first place. However, he was unable to keep up with his playing partner, Rafael Gomez from Argentina. He has now gained one of five Seniors Tour 2018 cards on offer here this week.
John, who had rented a trolley from us for the entire tournament and also early in January when he came over to the Algarve to practice was clearly stunned by his success and will now immediately become a professional golfer.
