About the curious details we find when we truly pay attention, with observant eyes, with critical thinking, with the willingness to understand what is really happening.

That’s me! When there’s no live broadcast, I’m the kind of person who hits “Refresh” around 180 times during a round of golf. I’m the one zooming in on the green, opening Google Maps to try and understand exactly where they are, where they’re going to play from, what they’re going to do “from there”…

And today, while following Daniel’s and Ricardo’s rounds, something caught my attention when I saw Ricardo’s first shot on the 12th hole. I had seen those distances before… or maybe I was starting to imagine things. I wasn’t. After checking again, I was sure.

Today, during the second round of the Soudal Open, on the 12th hole, separated by more than an hour, Ricardo and Daniel hit an “identical” tee shot.

Even assuming the shot-tracking location may not be perfectly precise, and after going through the entire leaderboard, there were no other matching numbers.

So we can safely say that today, our guys managed to do the impossible: the exact same shot!

In less than 24 hours, so much happened…

A road trip, a night flight, a 36-hole walk and an incredible night!

I don’t feel tired, I feel fulfilled and grateful!

I had never watched a Tour tournament from this close before, the closest I’ve ever been.

It’s incredible, the scale, the level, the pressure and the precision. There, in loco, you can truly feel how quickly things go from “we can win this” to “this time it’s not happening.” You see glory and failure walking hand in hand. You see an extraordinarily executed driver followed by a missed 80-centimeter putt.

You see concentration, calmness, reading the game and perception walking side by side with nervousness. You see the level of management and control that is required. You see players “getting back into the game” in less than 15 seconds. There, you witness the very best of the best, elite professionals competing against one another, all performing at an extraordinary level except for one, who seems to be operating on a completely different level from the rest.

The atmosphere is beautiful!

I want to go back and feel again what I felt at the Estrella Damm Championship Catalunya!

São 2, dois, os portugueses a competir este fim de semana no DP World Tour, Ricardo Melo Gouveia e Daniel Rodrigues.

Que, contra tudo e contra todos, vão estar até ao último dia de competição a fazer o melhor que sabem. Jogar golf. E alimentar esperança do futuro!

São os nossos Ronaldos neste momento, na Champions League. Dão-nos a oportunidade de vibrar por mais do que uma equipa. Se não for um, é o outro!

Eu irei sorrir pelos dois, torcer pelos dois, ficar feliz pelos dois. Não podendo ser os dois, eu só quero que pelo menos um deles seja bem-sucedido, e para mim já são. E, se não for… p***a, estes tipos estão onde nós gostávamos de estar. Serão derrotados onde nós nem conseguimos chegar.

São daqueles poucos que não dormiram nas manhãs de chuva, não ficaram quando alguém mandava ir. São dos que acreditaram de verdade, sem “mas”, são os nossos!

Estão a disputar posições aqui ao lado de casa, num “estádio/País” com mais 20 milhões de pessoas do que o nosso, e não se encolhem à multidão. De uma forma muito Lusitana, mesmo sem querer, estão lá a fazer-nos acreditar.

Eu estou a vivê-lo de uma forma muito pessoal. Não quero só a vitória deles, quero vê-los ser bem-sucedidos, dar espetáculo, alimentar esperança aos futuros, àqueles que hoje ainda mal conseguem carregar o s**o.

Hoje foi um dia difícil, mas foi muito bonito! Temos “dois carros na pista”, e isso é muito, vale muito!

Daniel, Ricardo, obrigado pela vossa dedicação. Mais do que vitórias, a mensagem, através do exemplo, é valiosíssima para as gerações vindouras.

Eu sou fã de gente que vai á luta!

Today I achieved the American Development Model for Junior Golf certification and this does not happen by chance.

There are days when the clock feels heavy when motivation is low and when going to bed early seems like the easier choice. But there are goals that are not built in comfort. They are built in consistency discipline and yes in some nights that go longer than planned.

This certification is not just a title. It is another tool to do what really matters helping children grow in golf in a healthy fun and structured way respecting their development and their time.

The effort is not always visible but it is there in the hours after training in the courses in the doubts and in the desire to do better tomorrow than today.

Today it was worth going to bed later. Tomorrow the next step begins.

In golf, just like in life, our children do not need to be perfect they need to feel confident

Between every swing and every smile on the course, they are learning far more than technique they are building courage, resilience and a love for the process

As parents, the greatest gift is not demanding results it is supporting, encouraging and celebrating every small step forward

In the end, it is not about the score
It is about who they are becoming along the way 💚

“Haste is the enemy of perfection.”

Most parents want to see their child progress quickly. It’s normal. We all want the best for them.

But there is a truth that is rarely spoken out loud: early success is not what builds champions, neither in golf nor in life.

What truly shapes the future of a young player is a positive, healthy and joyful relationship with the game.

Every child learns and responds differently. Some develop best with more structured methods. Others need to play, explore, create and feel free. When the wrong approach is forced, anxiety, frustration and eventually dropping out begin to appear.

When we respect a child’s personality and adapt training to their pace, we build something far more valuable than immediate results: lasting motivation, confidence and genuine enjoyment of playing.

The goal is not to turn your child into a prodigy at age 10. The goal is to help them become a young player who loves golf enough to grow with it throughout their whole life.
