The action "First Steps in Safety" took road education to kindergartens of the Parish Council of Benfica, strengthening the proximity between the children and the Lisbon Municipal Police.
The Benfica Community Policing team and the Prevention and Safety Core of the Lisbon Municipal Police have energized awareness sessions dedicated to road safety, promoting safe habits from an early childhood.
Through a playful and educational activity with simulated courses, the little ones learned to recognize crosswalks, interpret traffic lights and some traffic signs, as well as the importance of always being accompanied and attentive on public roads. The children have discovered how to drive safely, while interacting with the Municipal Police officers, reinforcing the relationship of trust and closeness.

We've had an eventful two weeks at ! Our reflects on celebrating milestones, launching new operations and connecting with our participants and frontline staff:
"Heading home after visiting four countries over an incredibly fulfilling, productive and intense two weeks in Africa!
I began in Dar es Salaam, where we celebrated 20 years of BRAC in Tanzania β an important milestone and a powerful reminder of what long-term commitment, local leadership and community partnership can achieve. It was especially meaningful to spend time with colleagues who have been part of the journey since the very early days.
From there, I travelled to Kigali, where I saw firsthand how our teams are delivering increasingly integrated programmes for women and girls in hard-to-reach communities across Rwanda. I also had the privilege of meeting the new Governor of the central bank, and we discussed the importance of scaling transformative financial inclusion.
Next was Nairobi, where we launched BRACβs newest microfinance entity β a cashless and almost paperless operation in Kenya that we hope will set a new benchmark for inclusive financial services that blend both tech and touch. And finally, to Accra β for the exciting launch of NGO operations in Ghana! Coming just over two years after we began our microfinance work there, it has been great to see how quickly the foundations are being laid for deeper and more integrated impact.
Across all four countries, I met many dedicated colleagues β from senior leadership to frontline staff β who work tirelessly every day to provide essential services, create opportunities and support communities with dignity and care. But as always, the most inspiring moments came from meeting programme participants themselves β the women and girls who are transforming their own lives while bringing hope, dignity and opportunity to their families and communities. They are the true heroes of our story.
An amazing two weeks, and to put the icing on it, we learnt on Thursday that Asif Saleh got named on the Times list of 100 people shaping the future of giving!
I hope the visionary behind everything we do and continue to build is looking on with pride - and perhaps just a hint of a smile."
