Spreading the Love in Coimbra

Wandering through the beautiful Coimbra Botanical Gardens, feeling a pang of homesickness (too soon I know!) But as fate would have it, a chance encounter turned my day around completely.

I stumbled upon a newly wed couple. They were beaming with joy, but something seemed missing – no photographer to capture their precious moments. I offered a quick 10-minute photoshoot, and to my delight, they were thrilled!

Spending that time with the newlyweds, the Costa family, was a heartwarming experience. Talking to them, capturing their happiness, it all felt so familiar – like being “back home”. I realised that sometimes, the best travel antidotes come in unexpected packages.

This random act of kindness showed me why I love travel so much – the connections you make, the joy you can share with complete strangers. It gave me a renewed sense of purpose and a big dose of happy to “soldier on” with the rest of my European adventure.
