Since October, I’ve officially joined the team establishing a Biodesign_Lab, where I’m stepping in as a design–research consultant and I’m really excited to finally share it.
The project is based at the , as part of the DEGREN PLUS initiative, financed by España–Portugal and co-funded by the .
We’ve already begun shaping the space for what will become a small nucleus of labs. At the moment, we’re setting up protocols, experimenting with our newly acquired biopress, and waiting for new equipment and tools from local suppliers to arrive.
This opportunity grew naturally out of my nearly two years at , where I deepened my biomaterials research, developed hands-on lab practice, and grew through the community.
I’m thrilled to be joining an incredible team: my friend and wonderful human Prof. along with and from Lab, whose support has helped us move faster through this initial phase. And leading the project is my brilliant professor,
Feeling grateful, energized, and ready for this next chapter. 🌱✨

Returning to .uevora 💫
A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of presenting my research on biomaterials —developed at — at , .
It was a heartwarming reunion with one of the first people I met when I arrived in Portugal, who’s supported me ever since: and with my godmother-professor
I’m returning now with renewed energy, more knowledge, and a deep excitement to create beautiful things.
Can’t wait to share what’s coming next 🌿

is now rooted in Alentejo 🌾
About a month ago, my husband and I set our sails toward Évora, in the south-central lands of Portugal, a place we hope to call home for as long as it welcomes us.
The past couple of weeks have been the most peaceful I’ve ever experienced in a long time.
Évora holds a quiet calm that brings clarity to everything. It’s the first city I arrived in when I came from Tunisia, and it was the place I called home for three years. It’s where I studied, met my friends, and found a supportive community that stayed close to me, even when I rebelled and left in search of the excitement of Lisbon.
Reworkshop will now focus more on Alentejo, a region that reminds me so much of my dearest Mediterranean homeland, Tunisia. It’s in the weather, the people, the land.
Here, people might watch you from a distance at first, but a simple “Bom dia” is enough to soften their heart and bring out a smile.
There are so many exciting things taking shape, and I’ll be sharing more very soon.
Friends from Lisbon, a big thank you from the depths of my heart:

And to the beautiful places I worked in:

Thanks to you, I leave Lisbon with so many beautiful memories and important lessons.
Stay with me on this new journey and I will share more. 🫶

A dive into the world of natural dyes with ✨
I joined a wonderful workshop with , led by the talented which took place at . We explored different sources of natural color like couve roxa (red cabbage), turmeric, beetroot, charcoal and more 🌈
The best part? Watching the screen-printed posters come to life with .fl and the oficina crew while testing, layering, and adjusting the handmade ink, each with its own aspect and personality.
A whole lot of inspiration to take home. ✨
