Two proud Filipinos have once again earned their spot at the 2026 UCI Gravel World Championships this coming October. 🇵🇭🚴‍♂️

The qualification race took place at Seven Gravel in Nannup, Western Australia🇦🇺🦘. A truly demanding course with 125km distance and a brutal 3,1117m of elevation gain. It was a race that tested not only fitness, but also resilience, determination, and mental strength.

Robert Minon suffered a crash early in the race before the 50km mark. Thankfully, nothing serious happened, and despite the incident, he showed incredible grit and determination to continue racing and still managed to finish in 17th place to secure qualification for the World Championships representing the Philippines.

Micor Mendoza also faced major adversity early in the race when his rear derailleur battery died just 2km from the start. He had to stop to replace it and was left far behind the peloton. At that moment, he thought his race was over. But through patience, determination, and relentless effort, he chased for most of the race, caught many riders on the climbs. He finished 40th overall, securing his place at the World Championships as well.

This race was a reminder that cycling is not always about having a perfect day. Sometimes it’s about staying composed during difficult moments, continuing to fight, and never giving up.

Congratulations to Robert Minon and Micor Mendoza for their inspiring performances and for proudly representing the Philippines on the international stage once again. Wishing both riders continued good health, safe training, and the very best for the 2026 UCI Gravel World Championships. 🇵🇭👏
