The EJCOA National Youth Championship is sponsored by Chess and Bridge https://chess.co.uk/ and The Nottingham Chess Foundation and SPTW.
The EJCOA finals entry is now live.
There are already 72 entries.
You can register on https://ejcoa.co.uk/online-payments/nyc-2026
The full program is also on the entry link. This is now by far the best junior final in the UK with the normal 5 rounds of fide and ECF rated chess plus training in pre-determined subjects as per the entry form, game analysis by the very few fide trainers in the UK, plus the evening simul that last year had around 90 children take part.
The event is now and ECF Qualification event to play for England.
In addition this. This year we will have live boards for the top 5 boards in the U16 to U21 combined section.
In this section there is free entry for the first 20 players to email [email protected] who are over ECF or FIDE 2100.
We are looking to add an extra £500 first prize to this section which has not yet been advertised.
Finally we will have a streamer covering the games, training , interviews and all sorts of things.
If you plan on joining, then please register quickly as this is looking like it will be the biggest event yet.

Chess on Trafalgar Square: Sunday 18 July
All welcome for a fun day of chess!
ChessFest, London’s largest-ever outdoor public chess festival, would like to invite all members of junior chess clubs, their families and friends to join us as our guests from 11am to 6pm in Trafalgar Square on Sunday 18th July, 2021.
ChessFest, organised by UK charity Chess in Schools and Communities and sponsored by XTX Markets, is a fun-packed celebration of chess aimed at bringing the whole community together through the enjoyment and learning of the game.
Entry to the outdoor festival and all its events on Trafalgar Square is completely free and open to all, and the event is being organised in cooperation with Westminster City Council to ensure the safety of participants.
You are welcome to play in simuls against a Grandmaster or International Master, enjoy a lesson with a professional chess tutor or simply play casual games with family, friends and other members of the public.
ChessFest will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the publication of Lewis Carroll's chess-themed children’s classic, “Alice Through the Looking-Glass” with a live chess game on a giant chessboard, in which 32 actors dressed as Alice Through the Looking-Glass characters will replay a game based on the book.
There will also be an Inter-City Chess Challenge played online as children from London play children from Liverpool, as well as a match between two prodigies, Shreyas Royal from London and Tani Adewumi from New York. Everyone on Trafalgar Square will be able to follow the action on a giant screen, adding to the enjoyment and festive atmosphere.
We look forward to seeing you and your family, friends and clubmates on Trafalgar Square. It promises to be a memorable occasion!
