Last September, I went sailing with only my wife.
A yacht with three cabins and three bathrooms. Two people.
I could not find four friends to come with us.
So, half joking, half out of ambition, I told myself: if I can't find four friends, I'll gather 100 boats.
Well...
This year we are 106 boats at UnSail Festival, a Legend On The Sea. More than 1000 people. And most of the skippers are my former students.
And since we will all be there anyway, on Monday, 28 September, at 19:00, on the beach at Antisamos, we are making an official attempt for a 𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐒™ title.
𝐋𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧.
One lesson. 30 minutes. The whole beach becomes the crew of a single ship.
For it to count, at least 251 people have to stay on that beach, from the first minute to the last. Their rule, not mine.
On stage: me and Marius Saliu. An adjudicator from Guinness World Records counts every single person.
Am I scared? Yes. Just like at my very first course.
We are trying to stream everything live, here on this page. If you have ever been my student, on Monday evening you are part of the crew.
Monday, 28 September 2026, 19:00. Antisamos, Kefalonia, Greece.
