🤸🏙️ Sport #34 of 50 – Parkour in Oberhausen, Germany 🇩🇪✨

The Browns took movement to new heights at the Ruhr Games 2015, learning the art of Parkour with their incredible mentor Marcel Parcharidis. 💪

From vaults and wall runs to jumps and rolls, Marcel showed how Parkour is more than just physical skill — it’s creativity, confidence, and freedom in motion. Every obstacle became an opportunity, every wall a new way forward. 🏙️⚡

For Ben, it was pure adventure. For Jacqui and Paul, a reminder that courage isn’t about avoiding fear — it’s about jumping through it.

👦🏼👩🏼✨ Side by Side with Ben – Lessons Beyond the Game 💪

Every new sport brings something different — new moves, new mentors, new laughs — but the best part is always the same: sharing it together. 🧡
For Jacqui, watching Ben learn, stumble, and improve week after week has become more than a journey through 50 sports — it’s a journey through growth, patience, and connection.

They cheer for each other, challenge each other, and sometimes just laugh when things go sideways — because the real win isn’t in mastering the sport, it’s in doing it side by side.

💬 “He learns how to play — I learn how to let go.” 🧡

👉 What’s one activity you love sharing with your kids?

💃🕺 Why Dancing Is Great for Kids 🇱🇻✨

At Studio Dance Magic in Riga, the Browns saw how dance can do so much more than teach steps — it helps kids grow inside and out. 🌟

🧠 Focus & Memory – Learning choreography strengthens concentration and boosts confidence.

💪 Coordination & Strength – Every move builds balance, flexibility, and body awareness.

We’re Definitely Not Dancers… But We Tried Anyway | 50 Sports in 50 Weeks 28/05/2026

Week 33 of 50 — The Browns head to Riga, Latvia, to discover the joy, athleticism, and sheer fun of dance, a sport that combines rhythm, technique, and expression in every step. 🇱🇻💃🕺

Under the guidance of world-class coaches Slava Visnakovs & Tereza Kizlo , both internationally experienced dancers and champions in ballroom and Latin styles, the family steps onto the dance floor to learn different styles and techniques. Slava has coached national champions and international finalists, bringing deep expertise and passion to every movement.

Joining them is Jelena Samuilova, respected in Latvia’s dance sport community and involved in major dance events and festivals, adding performance insight and creative energy to the sessions.

Dancing can look effortless from the outside, but the Browns quickly discover how technical and complex it truly is. Footwork, timing, posture, and musicality all demand precision and while the family may jokingly admit they “weren’t made for dancing,” they give it their all, embracing every spin, step, and smile along the way.

This week is a celebration of movement, laughter, and the universal language of dance, showing that effort and joy can go hand in hand, even when a sport feels completely new.
