Start by learning the complete system, not only how to mount a camera.

A capable CCTV technician should be able to:

✅ Identify cameras, DVRs, NVRs and installation tools
✅ Install cameras, connectors and cabling correctly
✅ Understand Ethernet, PoE and basic IP networking
✅ Configure, test and troubleshoot CCTV systems
✅ Build experience through practical installation work

Watching demonstrations can introduce the process, but confidence develops when you handle the equipment, test connections and solve real technical problems.

A certificate can support your credibility, but it should be backed by practical skills and experience.
