MUSHA KIDS

My name is Sam. I had two brothers, two sisters, a father, and a mother. I went to live in an orphanage after my parents passed away. When they died, I didn’t know what to do. I stayed in our house for several weeks, and my neighbors gave me food. But after a while, the government came to check on me. They asked if I had any relatives I could stay with, but I told them that both my parents had died in 1994 in Rwanda. I didn’t know what would happen to me. Some days, I managed to find enough food, but other days, I went to bed hungry. I didn’t know what would happen next, so I walked around the town. When it got dark, I slept on the pavement.

In 2010, I came to live in the orphanage. I received support from people in the US, and I will never forget their kindness. I started to learn, and I graduated in 2019. Now, I have a job at INEZA (REAP). We have a good boss, and we are paid on time. My life has slowly started to change. I am now 23 years old, and I’m planning my future. I’ve faced many challenges in my life, but I want to create something related to my career. When I was younger, I dreamed of becoming rich, but I now understand that success is about respect and working hard with others. I have learned a lot about behavior and the importance of how we interact with our colleagues.
