A lot of work goes in pre summer, getting focused on training, dialling in nutrition.

As summer hits we enjoy it, take the foot off the gas and start to see our progress slip.

Most people just keep slipping all the way until it’s time for summer again.

It’s not because they want to, it’s because they exhausted themselves pre summer…

Now they can’t be arsed with the sight of anything that resembles discipline until they feel guilty enough to start again.

I’ve been helping clients overcome this cycle for more than 10 years… I’ve seen the trends.

I’ve also seen what works and doubled down on it. A plan, after the plan.

A system that has two phases that complement one another. When one finishes the other begins.

Until now I’ve been using this format exclusively with my 1-1 clients but I’ve been working on a more accessible option for everyone.

It’s almost ready and I need a small group of people to test it for me.

If you’d like to be one of them, like this post and I’ll be in touch.

Ega has a few longer runs under his belt but this was his biggest distance to date.

One difference in his prep this time is that we worked together to maintain a strength programme all the way up until race day.

I helped him managed the correct volume, load and movement selection and he put in the work.

He was able to complete the race feeling strong and confident that his body was strong and capable enough to do the job well!

Running a marathon in my opinion is an incredible feat of mental and physical strength and resilience.

It’s not just what gets done on the day it’s the willingness to commit to weeks and months of prep in the build up.

Proud coach moment being able to see Ega cross the finish line this past weekend… apparently it’s an ultra next 😏💪
