Masha’Allah, long before it was a European capital, Madrid was founded by Muslims in 865 CE when Emir Muhammad I of Cordoba established a defensive citadel named Mayrit ("place of abundant water").

Subhanallah, the legacy of al-Andalus still stands strong in the quiet park corners of the city.

Alhamdulillah. Spending my morning standing beneath the breathtaking red-and-white arches of the Great Mosque of Cordoba, Spain, felt like taking a journey straight into the golden age of Al-Andalus.

Commissioned in 785 CE by Abd ar-Rahman I and later expanded by visionaries like Caliph Al-Hakam II, this magnificent sanctuary was once the beating heart of a brilliant civilization that birthed legends like the pioneering surgeon Al-Zahrawi and the master philosopher Ibn Rushd.

Walking through its timeless halls in the quiet morning light, you can truly feel the profound devotion of those who built it.
