Syed Nadeem
We connect you with leaders, executives, and industry leaders who share how they built influence, leadership, and high-impact careers.
Founder fbptoday.com, host of @thecareerconnectpodcast
I started the podcast with a simple question:
Nataraj Sasid, I haven’t seen your posts for almost a year. What happened?”
His answer surprised me.
His LinkedIn account had been hacked.
He lost the profile he had used since 2008 and had to start again from zero.
He rebuilt his presence and grew the new account to more than 100,000 followers.
Then LinkedIn recovered his old account and gave him a choice: keep the new profile with the larger audience or return to the old one.
He chose the old account.
Why?
Because it carried his real journey, relationships and history.
That story led us into a much deeper conversation about visibility, credibility and personal branding in the age of AI.
We discussed:
• Why visible people often move faster than talented people
• Whether starting a business later in life is actually an advantage
• Why AI-generated content is making everyone sound the same
• How to build visibility without losing credibility
• What really works on LinkedIn today
• Why your uniqueness may become your most valuable professional asset
One message stayed with me:
AI can help you create faster, but it cannot replace your experience, judgment and human touch.
Here is a short trailer from my conversation with Nataraj.
Watch it and tell me: Is AI helping people become more creative or making everyone look the same?

Sneha and Syed Nadeem highlight one of the biggest problems with communication: we often listen just to respond, not to understand. We may look attentive, make eye contact, and appear engaged but internally, we're already preparing what we're going to say next.

Syed explains how starting public speaking and communication training early can help children build confidence and stronger communication skills over time. Teachers may be experts in their subjects, but teaching students how to create interest, explain ideas, and engage an audience is an equally important skill for their future.

Dr. Sneha Sharma explains why public speaking fear is so common and, more importantly, how to overcome it. Many students and professionals experience stage fright, anxiety, and fear of speaking in front of an audience, but avoiding public speaking only makes the fear stronger.

Ubaid Ur Rehman explains one of the biggest mistakes people make when designing their LinkedIn banner: trying to communicate too many unrelated things at once. Your banner should make your value proposition clear, not confuse visitors with irrelevant information.
If you're promoting a course or cohort, for example, the strongest proof isn't random company logos - it’s real feedback and results from people who have actually experienced what you offer.

Ubaid explains the three things your LinkedIn banner should communicate: your core expertise, the social proof that builds credibility, and a clear call to action telling visitors what to do next. In just a few seconds, people should understand what you do, why they should trust you, and how they can take the next step.
A must-watch for anyone looking to improve their LinkedIn profile, personal branding, job search, and career opportunities.

Ubaid Ur Rehman shares why you shouldn't fake perfection on LinkedIn or social media.
It's okay to show both the good days and bad days, be vulnerable, and remain genuine without turning your personal brand into constant negativity. The real test of authenticity is whether the person people see online is the same person they experience offline.

Your LinkedIn profile is being judged before anyone reads your experience.
In just a few seconds, people form an impression based on your photo, banner, positioning and overall presence.
So the question is: What is your LinkedIn profile communicating about you?
In the latest episode of The Career Connect Podcast, I sit down with Ubaid Ur Rehman, a LinkedIn profile and visual design expert who works with top creators and professionals.
We discuss:
• Why LinkedIn visibility matters more than ever
• The psychology behind a high-converting LinkedIn profile
• What makes a powerful LinkedIn banner — and what ruins one
• How to choose the right CTA
• Using testimonials and social proof effectively
• What your profile picture communicates
• How to build a personal brand that attracts opportunities
• Why your digital identity must match who you are in real life
Ubaid also did a live review of my own LinkedIn banner and shared what he would change.
If you are serious about building your professional visibility, this conversation is worth watching.

Most finance professionals believe Finance Business Partnering is about having the right personality.
It isn't.
The biggest difference between a finance professional who simply reports numbers and one who influences business decisions is having the right approach.
With AI taking over more of the technical work, the value of finance is shifting.
The professionals who will stand out are those who can build trust, influence decisions, and guide the business not just explain the numbers.
These are the same skills we practice every week inside the Certified Finance Business Partner (CFBP) program.
This isn't about watching videos or memorizing frameworks.
It's about practicing real business conversations, solving realistic scenarios, and developing the confidence to influence decisions when it matters most.
The next CFBP cohort starts on 3 October, and I'd love to welcome you if you're ready to move beyond reporting and become a trusted Finance Business Partner.
