🌺 BIG THANK YOU FROM GIRLS4SPORT🌺
We’re thrilled to announce that Lynn McLennan and Lauren Sedgley from Central Coast, Australia, have donated 15 pairs of shoes to support our She Can Play Too football programme for primary school girls⚽💙
They shared:
“We’ve both played or supported women/girls’ sports and are so happy to support this initiative.”
Such a beautiful act of generosity and solidarity for our young girls back home in the Solomon. 💛✨
📸 Photo: Our Co-Founders, Lydia and Esther Wendy, receiving the shoes from Antoinette Wickham, the incredible woman who connected us with Lynn and Lauren.
This donation is a huge boost as we prepare for our 2026 sessions. Together, we’re helping girls build confidence, discover their talents, and dream bigger through sport.
Tagio tumas, Lynn & Lauren!
Your kindness will go a long way, and we look forward to growing this partnership. 🙌💖

Through football, learning, and fun, these girls have built confidence, made friends, and discovered their potential and skills that help them at school, at home, and in life.
A heartfelt thank you to the schools, teachers, coaches, parents, and the girls themselves for making this season a success.
Next year, Girls4Sport looks forward to expanding to more schools in Honiara, giving even more girls the chance to play, learn, and grow. 🏆

Important message for Parents
This is an important message for all parents: allow your children to be children and let them play!
Many parents today are overly restraining the youth, which is why our athletes are not as skilled as they used to be.
You might remember your own childhood, when you were active and exploring different parts of your community.
For instance, kids like Chels in the Southeast would engage in games like 'mummy and daddy' or run around playing 'hide and seek.'
Nowadays, children have open spaces to play, yet parents often tell them, 'sit down, stop running around, and keep quiet.' It's crucial to let kids run and play as that's part of being young.
Regarding candy: Many parents are now denying their children treats. While it's important to manage their intake, kids naturally love sweets. In the past, they would burn off the energy from candy by being active all day.
Instead of letting children sit in front of the television constantly, take them outside to play. We need to nurture the next generation of athletes. Let them be kids. Let them play.
