SRW Day # 2 - Women Crew

This concludes Phoenix Dragons SRW’24. Returning home without a medal or a podium finish doesn’t mean we didn’t win. The true trophies are the passion, the people, and the memories you have created as a team. Races are an affirmation of the effort, resilience and dedication you pour into every stroke but beyond the finishing line and the medals, races are small little journeys to get to the finishing line together. Seek progression, not perfection. Well done Phoenix Dragons and to everyone out there! We’ll be back stronger next year!

SRW Day #1

Day 1 of SRW got us warming up and all fired up only to have the heavy downpour extinguish the fire in us to continue putting up a good fight. But…. Nothing can ever stop group photos!

After weeks and weeks of training and everyone’s feedback, changing tactics here and there, having our boys row at the back with us for a couple of Sundays to prep us, got demoralized over and over again with our timings during race prep … Team Phoenix emerged - Heats 1 - 1st Placing Semi Finals - 1st Placing Finals - 3rd Placing It was a tough fight out there with our competitors and we are glad to have been able to compete alongside with many of you. Kudos to all who made this race a tough one for us and the organisers for making this #ihhsingaporesearegatta2024 race possible!

We could have backed out because we knew we were perhaps not ready for 300m, and with everyone’s tight schedules - this made things harder. But, nothing was going to stop us from proving ourselves. Over the past few weeks, our ladies up their training game - training on Saturdays and Sundays, and some days we topped it up with our volunteering work with @dragonspeedsg Today, we brought our “A” game at #ihhsingaporesearegatta2024

So, we tried to enter the 150m race for #ihhsingaporesearegatta2024 but we were given the 300m premier women’s race. Here’s all the behind the scenes action before we set off for the race!
