Our students, Priya and Janani, are practising a jathi that brings together a variety of adavus across different speeds. Alongside learning the adavus, our students are also working on refining their presentation by focusing on clarity, precision, and grace in every movement.

On 29 August, Aneka Ragam Rakyat brought together music, dance and communities at Heartbeat@Bedok, in an open-air celebration of Singapore’s multicultural heritage. ❤️

We’re proud to have our Apsaras Arts Academy teachers and students part of the dance team for this edition, performing alongside artists from across our diverse cultural landscape.

It was especially wonderful to see audiences joining in and learning the gestures of different cultural dances during the interactive segment!

We’re incredibly proud of our 16 students who participated in Bala Bhaaratham 3 - Padukalam this weekend! 🎭

This was their first time collaborating on a theatre project, and they put up very good performances over the past two nights. It was wonderful to see them take on this new experience and work together as a team.

A big thank you to Kalpana Mani and Dharan from Bala Bhaaratham Triangle EC for bringing this concept to life and featuring Apsaras Arts in his production. We’re very grateful to Teacher Seema Hari Kumar for her choreography of the dance segments and Teacher Kalakshetra Mukundan MP and Deva Priya Appan for assisting at the rehearsals, our wardrobe team and Pujitha for all their assistance this weekend.

And of course, a special thank you to all our parents for their wonderful support over the past few weeks, including the additional rehearsals and late nights. We couldn’t have done it without you! ❤️

Apsaras Arts extends our heartiest congratulations to our alumna Kamalavani Palaiyan on receiving the President's Award for Teachers on Teachers' Day.

This award is timely and very special to the Apsaras family as we celebrate our Golden Jubilee. Vani is one of the earliest students of Neila Maami at Kamala Club when the Apsaras Arts journey began.

Maami also identified her passion for education and entrusted her with choreography and teaching responsibilities at Kallang CC and People's Association. Many of her dance students continue to actively perform and contribute to the arts even today. We wish her every success in her career and to nurture the love of Thamizh and the arts in the younger generation.

Through Odissi-based movement, storytelling, music and poetry, we explored the Singapore River and some of the stories it holds, from its early days to its renewal.
