If you’ve been here with us for the last year, you’ll know we laboured over this idea for a while. A pretty and elegant necklace doesn’t necessarily make sense in this fightworld, but for us it’s a very small but weirdly connected part of our everyday experience as women in combat sports. A lot of us wear accessories every day as little symbols that connect us to what we love, yet we never had much more than a pair of brass boxing gloves hanging off a thick chain in the context of combat sports.

So we knew we had to do this one little thing, if even just for ourselves. ✨

Our first Boxing Gloves, made in your most-voted size - 12oz ✨

The goal of our gloves was predominantly versatility - something that worked well for Muay Thai and Kickboxing, but also Western Boxing. It had to:

✅ Feel snug enough in the cage that our hands wouldn’t be floating and swimming around (injury waiting to happen)
✅ Be padded enough to feel supportive but also good for light sparring or technical drills
✅ Have proper wrist support to help prevent injury

And of course, it had to look like something a goddess of war would wear, right? 😉

Why did it take us so long to make our own boxing gloves?

With everything we do and everything we make, we believe it must be done with purpose and intention. It’s too easy to slap a brand logo on a product and call it a new drop, and if we’re not 100% convinced that the final result makes and stays true to our vision, then it goes back to the drawing board.

This is why we’ve take so long to make our first boxing glove - it had to be right, and it had to be done the Athena way.
