Itβs always great to hear how Spraino has helped athletes prevent ankle injuries, and even better when we can see how it happened π πΈπ¬ National handballer wrote in to tell us how she avoided an ankle sprain during training while using Spraino. She couldnβt quite understand how - she felt a twist in her right ankle during a side-step movement but somehow avoided it. Puzzled, she sent us a video for our detailed analysis π
Olivia has a history of ankle sprains during her years of competitive handball, which she has tried very hard to prevent. Sheβs been using Spraino for 2 months now with no occurrence of an ankle sprain - she may have found something that will help her long term ππ½

Itβs been great fun going around meeting our national athletes and coaches over the past few months, showing them all about Spraino, and gathering feedback. To say that itβs been a strange year is a bit of an understatement and becoming clicheΜ - but if thereβs one thing that unites all the athletes and teams weβve met, it is that they are all keeping their heads up, training harder than ever for their upcoming goals π― Competitions might have been cancelled, venues closed, schedules disrupted, but the spirit has not wavered πͺπΌ Many of them have also stated that despite all that has been going on, they are just grateful that they are still able to play the sport that they love day in, day out ππΌ
sg wishes all athletes and coaches a Merry Christmas π, and all the very best for 2021 π― Keep enjoying your sport - the only way is up! π₯

Exercise therapy (strengthening and balance work) is the key fundamental in both the prevention and rehabilitation of ankle sprains and chronic ankle instability. This is vital for optimal remodelling of the connective tissues (ligaments, tendons) that have been damaged during the sprain. When applied in measured loads, it expedites collagen synthesis for repair β
A short period of immobilisation post ankle sprain can help with pain and swelling but immobilisation is NOT recommended for more than 10 days - this can delaying in fact healing βοΈ Early measured loading can really help short and long term outcomes π
Apart from using the appropriate shoes, simple touches to your shoes - such as modifying your lacing method with an ankle lock - can help add additional stability to your foot and ankle π¦ΆπΌ Making sure your shoe is the correct fit and size is another important but overlooked aspect π
With all that done and managed, Spraino enhances your injury prevention strategies by further reducing your risk of ankle sprains (by 53% βΌοΈ). Itβs the icing on the cake π Stick it on your shoe as a patch, and just play, and keep on playing! π₯π
