Feel free to do this bare raw feet or in shoes. Standing or seated.

I find that change happens when you can fit something into your life consistently. Consistently can be hard thing, and it helps if whatever we choose to do can be done somewhat easily and so accessibility is important. You know what's easier than doing hard things? Doing easy things. So here are some movements you could do pretty much anywhere and as quick as you'd like them to be

In general you could do these while brushing your teeth, doing the dishes, waiting for a train or while riding the train, while watching something. Maybe not while driving, coz you need your feet then and maybe don't turn your car into a death machine. Killing people is not cool. I know, what a brave take.

Anyway, I hope this helps you. Have a hepi hepi day!

Here's another quick check-in you can do if you're having a headache, been staring at screens a lot, feel overstimulated or just tired.

In this video, we use soothing touch to map our head and eyes. Usually doing stuff like this helps me and people I've shown it to feel more comfortable again and ready to go about their day.

If you've done this check-in and you feel like you're still tired, it's okay to have a quick nehpi (nap). Before you do, have some water or tea and a snack maybe. Then check back in again with how you're feeling.

I used to not nap and would just blast through the day, but I've learnt that even just closing my eyes for a bit for the length of a calm song, or actually just sleeping for 5-15mins makes a big difference. I figured life has many struggles, and I don't need to mek more struggle for myself, while going through the struggle.

Being able to rest or have time for oneself is often a privilege many do not have, sadly. But if you find yourself with 5 mins in your day to spend with just you, I hope you enjoy that time with you.

First post back after having to recover from being sick. I thought I'd do a short one!

This is a quick check-in you can do anywhere with yourself that may help you feel more present, less tired and more in-tune with yourself.

Taking the time to ask yourself or just your body in this case, "what needs attention right now?" gives you a chance to listen to what you need right now and what you might need to change.

In the last few weeks that I've needed more recovery, I've needed to ask myself this question, which would help lead me to figuring out what I needed in that moment. I haven't been this ill in many years, and you know what guys, mind-blowing stuff, but rest helps. Who would have thought.

Rest can be hard and often we see it as the verb it is. To rest. As if it was something to do, like jump or run. Yet it isn't something meant to be active in that way. Sometimes you can't ice bath and sauna your way into feeling rested.

So we can start with this, just listening and seeing where it goes.

In my recent video, I talk about meaningful touch and self-massage for our hands and wrists.

I go through how to feel for the bony structures in your hand through touch so that you can understand what you're touching and working with.

Just palpation (big word for touching, finding and examining structures in the body) can build a clearer bodymap which can bring a sense of ease and better understanding of what's going on in your own body. Sometimes that alone feels like a massage in itself, especially if you're doing it with the intention of listening with your hands with curiosity.

Here we try to feel the bones in our wrist. Have fun!

Hi everyone! Guess who's back, back again. I'm back from the dead. Happy new year! I've been working on something with a friend, collaborator, and professional maker of sounds for the past year. Together we formed Move Your Voice, a collaborative project where we mix movement and voice to help elevate one's ability to express themselves fully with their voice.

This is a snippet from our first video together, where we talk about our experience working together and how I helped Jingyun through her rehab journey, and how we created a physical practice that helped her achieve her physical and vocal practice goals.

Watch the full video on Youtube here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=aF9O_mRHe7k

We also chat about and demonstrate key movements and physical training concepts that we found useful for voice practice, which will also be explored in our upcoming workshop:
