With the 18th Management Committee’s term in full swing, here’s a message of encouragement to the 18th MC from the 17th MC’s President, Dylan Thet Tin:

"Hey 18th,

It’s our pleasure to have you succeed the reins of the MC to guide our community of athletes to the next level of sporting excellence. In your term, there'll be trying moments that may throw you down a rabbit hole of doubt. But so long as your intentions, decisions & actions come from a place of sincerity for the community you serve, never ever second guess yourselves - trust that the Union is behind you, stay grounded & have absolute conviction.

Culture, after all, begins from the top - so make it awesome.

Of course, at the end of the day, remember the big picture - that we're all just students, trying to make our university lives just that much more interesting. So take heart, celebrate every small victory & make this experience amazing for yourselves, our clubs & their athletes. Begin with an end in mind, and have a term you can be absolutely proud of.

As for us? Well, it's time we moved on, but the 17th has always got your backs. Enjoy the ride as you craft out your story as the 18th Management Committee!

Might of One, Strength from All."

And to the entire SSU community, the 18th MC has a lot in store for you this year! Here’s a message from the 18th’s President, Brendan Tay to all of you:

“In line with our goal this year to re-energise the sports scene in SMU through events and corporate networking, we are actively pushing for more in-person events in the coming year. These would bring back some semblance of campus culture within SMU that has been sorely missed for the past couple of years.

Keep a lookout for everything that SSU will bring in 2022!”

“I joined floorball in year 1. The club has always been extremely welcoming, and they hold many fun-filled events throughout the year. At the club, we strongly believe in working hard and playing hard. If you have an interest in joining but have no prior experience, fret not. Many of our members start with little to no experience but with the guidance of experienced seniors and a great coaching team, you are sure to catch up to speed!”
