National School Games B-Division Hockey Boys Final against Raffles Institution, Wed, 12 Apr 2023.

“When I say Saints are you ready, you say ever ready!” our School Captain galvanised support for our Sports teams this morning with this message. And ever ready was our Hockey team for the semi-finals against Sengkang Secondary with a score of 2-1! So, Saints, Let’s go marching in… marching to the finals on the 12th of April at Sengkang Stadium! &ON!🏑

This year, our Boys Hockey team clinched second place at the National School Games. Zhuo Kai Yao (18S07) reflects on how his team managed to go so far.

“This season was the first time since 2010 that the SAJC Boys Hockey team played in the finals. Although the season started with a defeat by defending champions RIJC, we did not let that result dampen our spirits and fought even harder in our subsequent matches. With the relentless support and care we received from our coaches, teachers, mentors, friends and family, we proceeded to win our next two games against MI and SJI, qualifying for the semi-finals, where we faced VJC and won after a penalty shootout. This was the first final for the majority of our team, and we were excited to play in front of a big crowd. Although we lost in the finals, we are still very proud of what we have achieved, being the first Saints hockey team to be in the finals after 9 years. Despite the countless challenges we faced and the tough trainings we went through, the journey was definitely an unforgettable one.”

Congratulations, boys – we are proud to be able to celebrate this achievement with you!
