What a thrilling start to the Dragons journey! Here’s a glimpse into the action-packed day:

*🔥 Kickoff & The Dragon’s Journey*
The day began with a zombie apocalypse icebreaker, setting an exciting stage for their adventure.

*Mission 1: 🛹 Skateboarding 101*
Working together as teams, campers successfully problem-solved and worked together to help get everyone skating. They then proudly received their camp shirts, marking the official start of their journey.

*Mission 2: 🗺️ Urban Navigation & Secret Skate Spot*
Working together as teams, campers successfully navigated to the Secret Underground Skate Spot via MRT, learning the rules and guidelines of travelling on the train.

*Mission 3: 🛹 Skateboarding 2.0*
Once there, they divided into two team.
- Focusing on balance and control. Fun games reinforced their learning.
- Taking their skills up a notch, gaining confidence and control doing kickturns

*Mission 4: 📝 Journaling & SMART Goals*
Campers took time to reflect on their day and set SMART goals for the week. Journaling encouraged self-awareness and gave them a way to track their growth and achievements.

*Mission 5: ⚽️ Ball Sports*
Wrapped up the day with a quick fun game of dodgeball!

- Amazing Race: Navigating through Gardens by the Bay, the Dragons tested their teamwork and navigation skills, supporting each other at every checkpoint.
- Skateboarding: They hit the 50m slope with courage, building confidence and control on their boards! 🏂
- Obstacle Course: The Dragons tackled climbing and agility challenges, putting their bouldering skills to good use. 🛝
- Water Play: Cooling off with water games was the perfect way to wrap up a high-energy day!

💡 Reflection Time:
In today’s circle, we focused on the idea that flaws and weaknesses are not barriers, but stepping stones to growth. Each Dragon shared reflections, recognizing that our character and effort matter more than any imperfections. Powerful insights from our young adventurers! 👏

𝑯𝙖𝒑𝙥𝒚 17𝒕𝙝 𝘽𝒊𝙧𝒕𝙝𝒅𝙖𝒚, 𝙃𝒂𝙧𝒍𝙚𝒚! I’ll never forget the day Harley decided it was his time. He was about three and a half, always tagging along to our classes at East Coast Park. He’d rock his little Dragons shirt, join the games, but hadn’t really taken to skating just yet. Then one day—no coaching, no nudging—he just grabbed a board, hopped on, and skated straight through the middle of the class like he owned the place. No hesitation, no fear. That was Harley’s style—when he was ready, he just went for it.

That moment stuck with me because it wasn’t just about skating—it was about freedom. I had plenty of that as a kid. I roamed, I played, and I learned a lot just by being out in the world. But as I grew older, I realized that what I could bring to my kids—and other kids—was more than just freedom. It was the opportunity to play with purpose, to learn by doing, and to adventure together. That’s what The Dragons has always been about, and Harley and his brother have been right there with me, exploring, learning, and growing.

Harley’s journey, like all great adventures, has evolved. He’s 17 now, doing his own thing, finding his own path. But those early years—skating, playing, laughing, falling, and getting back up—are woven into who he is. And I know that no matter where life takes him, that spirit of adventure and play is always there, waiting for the next chapter.

So today, we’re not just celebrating 17 years of Harley—we’re celebrating a journey filled with adventure, growth, and plenty of fun along the way. I’m incredibly proud of the young man he’s become, and grateful to everyone who has been part of this ride with us through The Dragons.

The Dragons hiked, crawled, and even slided their way through challenges like Capture the Flag and Attacking/Defending the Fort at one of Singapore’s iconic sites. Along the way, they explored history at Fort Canning, learning about Singapore’s past while crafting their own stories of resilience and courage.

💡 Reflection Time: In our reflection circles, we dove deeper into the power of a growth mindset. The Dragons acknowledged each other's achievements, celebrated wins, and we even held a special graduation for our littlest members. 👏

But the journey isn’t over yet!

Three days down, and even though the excitement is high, we know the Dragons are starting to feel the challenge. The good news? This is often where breakthroughs happen. 💪

🚀 Ever tried an acid drop? This morning, the 8:00 AM Dragons showed us what are made of—balancing drills, ledge drops (aka acid drops), and mastering every moment with pure determination.
