It was entertaining and at times nail biting to witness the enthusiasm that each and every player displayed in the field. Our second event saw the participation of 6 teams with new teams - Team Kawan Kawan JE and Red Sevens Foam Archery playing for the first time. Team Spectrum took the Champion title for SFAS Event #2 with Team Legacy bagging the Silver medal and Kestrel taking the Bronze medal.

SFAS’ initial aim of re-branding foam archery in Singapore has not changed since the beginning when we decided to dedicate human and monetary resources to promote and develop this niche sport at the end of 2018. As a new entity with no foam archery history or past experiences, it is no wonder that many had doubts about our intention to venture into foam archery in the first place. Even at our depths of despair when our trust was thrown into question, the SFAS treaded on thin ice and ventured into the deep waters with aims to transform a sport previously clouded with anger and negative vibes. Our direction was always been simple - get a job done and do it good.

Over the last 6 months, we added, reviewed and tested many ideas and concepts to improve the game from the past. We held dialogue sessions and invited team members and stakeholders to request for feedback and suggestions to advance the sport. We took many efforts in finding sponsors to recognize the sport like mainstream games.

The introduction of the SFAS webcast with commentary hosting and guests’ appearances from teams added a different flavour for teams to review their performances after the event but more importantly to provide a source of media content for many more to watch and create awareness for the sport. While new to the foam archery scene, the SFAS took on the challenge and its existing baggage to reflect on past mistakes in perfecting the organization, the development and the ex*****on. We reviewed the rules and regulations again and again to ensure that everything is covered.

For the first time in the sport, SFAS hired ethical and committed individuals to deliver fairness and justice to the game only to be called as biased and prejudiced. We examined our progress along the way and often questioned ourselves how else we can do it better. While many have praised us for our hard work and craziness for venturing into this sport, there are also many who have limited tolerance for our imperfect deliveries.

In view of any further character and reputation defilement, mistrust and suspicion to the SFAS organization and its ever-supporting stakeholders, it is with deepest regret that we will postpone SFAS Event #3 on 22nd September 2019 until further notice. During this time, we will also be calling for team representatives and anyone who would like to assist us in developing and promoting this sport in Singapore and in Asia.

We would like to thank everyone who have contributed to the SFAS from the very day when the idea was mooted and when our dreams were only to make things better. We look forward to organizing more exciting foam archery activities for you soon and we hope that you can continue to support us.
