Update from Mendoza: We did not achieve any summits on this climb, but everyone is now safely back in Mendoza! 🥳
(Photos are shared in reverse order of the days)
18 December was our planned summit day and, by all accounts, it was a near-perfect, windless window. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to make the difficult decision to postpone our attempt to 19 December.
The following day presented a very different challenge. Strong winds set in from the early hours and persisted throughout the day, significantly increasing both the difficulty and risk. As fatigue accumulated and conditions deteriorated, team members made the responsible decision to turn back at different points along the route. The final two members pushed on with determination, reaching close to the Cavé at approximately 6600m, before also turning around.
While the summit remained out of reach, the team showed resilience, sound judgment, and strong teamwork in the face of demanding conditions. Everyone gave their very best and, most importantly, returned safely.
Now, with the mountain behind us, we are grateful to be heading home soon, just in time for Christmas, to rest, recover, and reunite with loved ones. Sometimes, coming home safely is the greatest success of all. 🥰🎉✨
Thank you everyone for staying tuned to our journey and sending us your best wishes and prayers ❤️

Thank you for your hospitality, professional guiding and friendship! SALUD!!! 🥂🍷🍷🍻

Camp life update from Camp 2 - Aconcagua Traverse - 16 Dec 2025 (Photos are shared in reverse order of the days):
Camp 1 tested us with a long, tough day > strong winds howling through camp and snowfall turning everything white. Christmas definitely arrived a little early for us 😅.
Thankfully, the move up to Camp 2 was met with sunshine and calm skies. We are grateful for the clear day and the beautiful views stretching across the Argentine mountains. We spent an extra day here to acclimatise and to practise footwork with crampons, taking things steadily and safely.
Surviving at this altitude and on this climb is not easy. Fatigue is starting to show for some of the members, and everyone is taking every opportunity to rest, recover, and recuperate.
So far, everything is going according to plan. If conditions continue to cooperate, we will move to Camp 3 on 17 Dec as scheduled. One step at a time, and thankful for each safe day on the mountain.
Always well supported by

Update from Aconcagua Base Camp – Plaza Argentina (4200m) - 12 Dec 2025
The approach trek into base camp has been a beautiful experience with sweeping views and the massive Cerro Aconcagua (6962m) and Ameghino (5950m) towering right before us. Being one of the early teams this season means base camp is peaceful and low-key, which actually works in our favour.
After a much-needed rest day at the base camp and a full gear adjustment (especially our mountaineering boots!), we began our first load ferry to Camp 1.
Cache day proved challenging, hauling 13kg-15kg loads while moving in heavy boots, and touching 5000m for the first time on this expedition. Still, with the steady guidance of our experienced and ever-helpful guides, we managed the climb well and safely.
With another good rest day behind us and our medical checks cleared, we are now ready to continue higher. From here on, network access will be very limited, so updates may be sparse.
While summiting Aconcagua is our ultimate goal, getting the team to Camp 3 (Camp Colera) at 6000m in good condition is even more important. The weather here is notoriously harsh and unpredictable, and with a summit success rate of around 30%, we can only hope we will be among the lucky ones.
Do continue to keep us in your prayers 🥳 ❤️
Thank you .expeditions for keeping us motivated and safe!
Humbly taking in every step of this journey 🙏 - Joanne
