In the Bajiquan records it states that in the beginning Baji Jia, the foundational frame of Bajiquan had only one routine. From the time of M. Wu Ying there became distinct variations: Wu Kai open the stance, pressing the external needle, Ding Xiaowu known for the tiger moves in three steps. Gao Mingshan received a raise and press the elbow. Li Dazhong salutes with a pressing elbow. Wang Changxi focused on the raked fist, and Wang Sh*tong had received the White ape hooks and intercepts. From these six transmissions, six distinct variations gradually spread, giving rise to six stylistic branches.

Black Tiger Rotations, Hei Hu Fan, is one of the methods of Bajiquan developed by M Zhao Fujiang (1930-2007).

At the age of twelve, Mr. Zhao went to live with his two elder brothers who had already made a living in Tianjin, and worked hard to learn in academics and martial arts. Two years later, he became a disciple of Yang Guangyi, a famous long fist master in Tianjin, and practiced Liuhe long fist. Two years later, Mr. Zhao was accepted as a disciple by Qian Yusheng, a famous Xingyi master and studied Xingyi boxing.

In 1951, Mr. Zhao's two old teachers passed away one after another. Mr. Zhao held back his grief and turned it into strength, and practiced martial arts hard.

The following year, Mr. Zhao, through the introduction of his second uncle, a gentleman who had lived in Tianjin for a long time, became a disciple of his sworn brother, Wu Xiufeng, a famous Baji master in Mengcun, Cangzhou, who was living in Tianjin, and took him home as a private teacher and was taught for more than three years.

In 1960, Mr. Zhao was accepted as a disciple by his Xingyi boxing uncle "Confucian Xia" Zhao Huazhang, and studied Xingyi boxing with his master. In 1966, Mr. Zhao was recommended by Master Huazhang to be adopted as the son of Master Zhang Entong, a famous master of Dachengquan, and studied Dachengquan. In the same year, under the guidance of the two masters, he practiced the Taoist internal power Tuoyuan Gong method with Master Li Dashi, the Taoist "Yuan Tuo Tuo" internal power master.

In 1977, two martial arts masters, Zhao Huazhang and Zhang Entong, and Master Wu Xiufeng passed away one after another, and Mr. Zhao was heartbroken. Mr. Zhao not only served the two martial arts masters during their illness, but also sent the bodies of the two masters to cremation.

He then developed his type of Bajiquan, often called 'Yin-yang Bajiquan Gong' or 'Zhao style Bajiquan'.
