Unfortunately, the afternoon fishing adventure was cut short for the 2 anglers when the authorities are alerted of their activities.
The officers were very courteous though, and informed them of the legal area 200m away from the spot where they were fishing.

The law is the law and we don’t condone fishing in non-designated areas.

However, our agencies want anglers not to use ‘live baits’ but yet, we feel they did not consider the differences of fishing live baits (cast and park at one spot) and lure fishing (casting into spots where the fishes may be at and keep moving from spot to spot to look for them).

To sum up, the fun and essence of lure fishing is really about the mobility an angler gets when he is able to cast his lure from point to point while in search of his prize.

To encourage anglers to use lures / artificial baits for fishing, we hope the authorities will consider what it means to engage in a lure angling activity.

What do you think?

When will we ever have such an agency here in Singapore?

Will you pay for a fishing license if it will go towards supporting similar restocking initiatives here in Singapore?

PM us if you would like to contribute to such initiatives today!

When someone breaks the law such as this, it casts a bad light on the fishing community.

Either way, it’s too big a price to pay for the love of fishing.

What are your thoughts on this? And what do you think we can do to prevent this from happening in future?
