Lets help the Migrant Workers in SG!

Like many, the Purple Monkeys have been following the stories of migrant workers here who are living in local dormitories and have been heavily affected by the coronavirus pandemic. As a club, we thought now is the right time to set ourselves our toughest fundraising challenge to date to help out and show our support.

In support of Migrant Workers Assistance Fund, the humanitarian charity of the Migrant Workers Centre in Singapore, we want to run a virtual relay race of 4,107km from Singapore to Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Throughout May, we will be running as we can in our local neighbourhoods whilst maintaining social distancing and adhering to government guidelines.

We realise how lucky we are to be living in Singapore and are grateful for the work being done to overcome the current situation.

At 4,107km, as a club we will need to cover over 130km every day within our neighbourhoods to complete the challenge.

If we can raise $5 per km, we aim to raise $20,535.

As well as raising money from within the club, we will also be looking for additional donations and support from our football teams, colleagues, friends and family all over the world.

Sports4U - EFL Champions League - 2019

EFL Champions, Purple Monkeys FC (紫猴子) continued their 100% record with a 4-2 win and knocked out ESPZEN FA Cup holders British Exiles, who finished the tournament with 1 win. We wish the best of luck to Exiles in their ESPZEN Division 1 season.

Vasvatu meanwhile smashed Jheat and sent the J*panese rolling out of the tournament as well. All the best to Jheat, while they take a break before the EFL season kicks off!

Banters Monkeys! Cup Winners! Doubles Winner!

League champions showed their class as they demolished Gaelic, whom had made a fairy tale run to the Sat cup final.

The trophy was probably always going home with the Banters, backed by a big Purple Monkeys crowd. The Banters, finished the season in style and carried home the EFL Sat Cup into the PMFC trophy cabinet for the first time!

Congratulations to FC MYK, Winners of EFL Sun Cup!!!

FC MYK completed the fairy tale as they held T89, 2-2 in normal time, before winning the penalty kicks 3-1!

No one gave the J*panese, much hope when they lost 0-3 to T89 in the group stage but FC MYK was deserved champions after knocking both EFL League Champions PMFC and now FSPG League Champions T89 aside to lift the trophy! FC MYK will now be gunning for the league title in the new season!

In the plate final, Jheat made it an all J*panese festival as they trashed Gaelic Rebels 3-0.

Looking forward to the new season already!

Sat Cup 08/06/19

Cup shock as the French, favourites and holders of the EFL Sat Cup were knocked out on penalty shootout to the Irish. Match ended 1-1 in regular time at St Wilfred and the Irish finish their giant killing via a 7-6 penalty shootout win.

In the other Semi at UWC Dover, an exciting first half which saw past and present EFL Sat Champions trade blows. CBD took the lead and lost it, Monkeys then took the lead and CBD had a chance to draw level from the spot, pen missed by CBD! Then an amazing twist as minutes later it was 2-2 but CBD then had a man sent off just before half time with a second yellow for using abusive language. Second half, saw CBD down 2-3, after an own goal but an amazing 10 man effort by CBD drew them level at 3-3. Shootout was always going to be cruel as the Banters went through 4-3!

It now sets up an intriguing final with the Champions Banters facing the Feckers the bottom team! What a competitive season this has been for the Equatorial League!

Sun Cup 02/06/19

Nearly the second shock of the semi as Vietnam FC was unlucky to be put out of the Cup by favourites T89.

VFC play was delightful and constant attacks were let down by poor finishing. It was one of those days when you knew the better team was going to lose and T89 took their rare chance to go through by a goal.

T89's manager praise VFC for their great play and acknowledged that the better team today were kicked out.

Alas, T89 will now be heavy favourites to win their first EFL Sun Cup as they face FC MYK whom they have already beaten once in the group. But, in the final, as in the Semis, at least the 2 form teams have both been under par, one has been taken down but will T89 perform against FC MYK in the final or will our J*panese friends tiki taka their way to the trophy?

Jheat beat Casuals 2-1 while the Irish trashed Bishane Pak 5-1 to setup a Irish vs J*p plate final.
