For a long time, I thought ā€œtoo muchā€ was something I needed to shrink.

Too sensitive.
Too intense.
Too loud.
Too different.

Middle school didn’t feel like home.
High school didn’t either.
Even some barns I stepped into — places that were supposed to feel like belonging — felt slightly off.
Like I was standing on the edge of something I couldn’t quite enter.

So I kept searching.
For the right place.
The right people.
The right version of myself.

And somewhere along the way, after 25 years of trying to fit into spaces that never quite fit me… I stopped looking.

I built my own.

I created a space where intensity is devotion.

Where sensitivity becomes detail.

Where ā€œtoo muchā€ turns into craft, art, magic.
This is where the magic happens.
This is where the creativity begins.

Not because I finally fit in —
but because I stopped trying to.

If you’ve ever felt like you didn’t fully belong…
like you were just slightly out of rhythm with everyone else…
Maybe you’re not lost.

Maybe you’re meant to build something of your own.

Tell me — when was the first time you realized you didn’t quite fit?

I care more about your horse’s comfort than I care about fitting in.

There’s a lot of beautiful tack out there.
But beautiful isn’t enough for me.

If it restricts movement, creates pressure, or ignores anatomy — I won’t make it.

I don’t build for everyone.

I build for the riders who want better.

Your horse doesnt own you tolerance.

If you know, you know.

I got another saddle in for some repair....

This time, it was a lovely dressage saddle, that needed replaced saddle billets. Because Im always striving to prove myself to myself,I took on the job even tho I knew replacing billets is a tedious job, because you have to be really handy witt the needle to stitch the new billets on, while the saddle is intact and not damaging the leather around itšŸ˜…

I must admit, I complicated too much and gave myself double the work, earning myself a couple of awl-knicks and blisters from pulling the needle, but I made it work and replaced the billets, while also making them even stronger with a saddle stitch all around -thats where the blister comes from- handstitching 5 m of leather with 4 mm hole spacing🧵 do not reccomendšŸ˜…šŸ˜‚

I also noticed the saddle was dirty in those hard-to-reach places, so I gave it a little spa day.

✨ Most riders don’t realize their saddle is dehydrated until it’s almost too lateā€¦āœØ

This saddle came in completely dry, sunbleached and stiff — the kind where the leather almost sighs when you touch it.
A few hours of careful cleaning, nourishing, and re-dyeing later… and she looks alive again.

Leather is a natural material.
When it’s dehydrated, it ages fast —
when it’s cared for, it lasts for years.

Here’s what I did:
• Deep cleaning to remove sweat & grime
• Rehydrated the leather with nourishing oils/conditioner
• Restored color with a careful re-dye
• Finished and sealed the surface for long-term protection

Slow, gentle work > quick fixes. Leather remembers.
The result:

A supple, richer, protected saddle that looks years younger —
and ready for many more rides.

✨ Curious:
How often do you clean or condition your saddle?
Be honest šŸ‘€šŸ‘‡
(I’m genuinely interested — everyone has a different routine!)

Want your tack brought back to life?

Photos from MystiqueLeather's post 13/11/2025

What happened when I said yes.....

I was contacted by
saying how lovely the tack I make is, and we talked a little bit.

Somehow the conversation lead to her mentioning an upcoming photoshoot idea she had in mind, and I got curious.

When she mentioned the theme being "Hellhounds", ideas started flowing fast and I designed these two collars for the lovely canines participating.

I wont say it went without bumps,first I had some trouble with sizing and we were on quite a time crunch;
but I managed to get them done just in time to get them shipped and delivered before the photoshoost started😁

"The Dripping Red" design features a black veg tan collar with detailed tooling of dripping liquid and handpainted by a deep, rich red color. Its carefuly handstitched with black thread and has soft and comfortable foam padding lined with soft black sheepskin.

"The King of Hounds" collar features a black veg tan backing with intricatly stamped design, antiqued with red and highlighted in silver for that true royal look. The middle adorns a flashy Labradorite, that is famous for "changing colors".
Handstitched to perfection like always, with soft foam padding lined in soft black sheepskin.

I just want to say huge thanks to all the people who came together to make this photoshoot happen, and for these amazing pictures🤩

Tell me which design looks better to youšŸ¤”

Part II — The Hunt Begins

From the ashes of night they rise,
eyes burning with the hunger of forgotten gods.
Their collars gleam with forged devotion —
bound not by chains, but by fate.

I wasn’t ready for how this one would turn out.

It started as an idea… and became something I could feel breathing under my hands.

The Hellhounds are coming. šŸ”„
