Alberto Mariotti | Superyacht24 | ITA — EYOTY 2026 jury member — shares his thoughts on the First 30, winner of the EUROPEAN YACHT OF THE YEAR 2026 award.

"Accessible and fun. The new First 30 wins in the Performance Category but would also be perfect for a hypothetical Young Yachting Category. A small boat, easy to handle and with an excellent quality/price ratio. If we add the price/performance ratio, she is definitely on the top step of the podium. This is also because we were testing in far less than ideal conditions: strong winds and rough seas in IJmuiden, Holland, where the First 30 demonstrates all her qualities far from the blue Mediterranean where she was developed.
While this nine-meter-yacht is not a racing boat - for there will be an even sportier SE version in the making - but she offers planing sensations in complete safety for those who have the ability to push a little further. A boat capable of attracting young people to sailing and keeping them committed. For me, there is also the added joy of Italy having contributed to the concept thanks to designer Lorenzo Argento who oversaw its styling."

We are excited to have Lorenzo Argento, our renowned designer of the FIRST range and an owner of a First 36, sailing with us this weekend🙌. Lorenzo is not only a passionate sailor but also an experienced coach. He was one of the expert trainers at our second Beneteau First Academy two years ago in Greece.

The First 30 and First 36 are fully booked.
