😂 When AI decides Taekwondo needs a little more… Bullshido.
I recently animated this photo with Grok, and I have to admit: the result is entertaining — but whatever martial art is happening here, I’m not sure it exists in any recognised syllabus. 😄🥋
What started as a perfectly normal Taekwondo photo somehow turned into a few seconds of improvised AI “combat choreography.” Some of the movements look like something straight out of a classic Bullshido demonstration rather than actual Taekwondo training.
Still, that is part of the fun of experimenting with AI. It can bring old photos to life, but it definitely doesn’t understand proper technique, distance, timing or application quite yet.
So, just to be clear:
🥋 Real Taekwondo: technique, control, repetition and purposeful movement.
🤖 AI Taekwondo: apparently… whatever this is. 😂
Would this technique pass your grading? 😆
AI disclosure: The original photo is real; the movement in this short video was generated using AI.

Taekwondo Instructor & Referee | Examination Director | ITO Chairman | Instructor & Trainer Education 🥋 Welcome to Taekwondo4Fitness!
I'm thrilled to be your guide on this journey towards health, fitness, and personal growth. With over three decades of martial arts experience, my passion for Taekwondo has taken me across countries, from Germany and Austria to Slovakia and the United Kingdom.
🌍 My martial arts journey started in 1989 when I was just 13 years old. Through dedicated training and invaluable mentorship, I've gained
🥋🌊 Throwback to training by the sea in the UK!
A beach might not look like a traditional dojang, but sometimes it makes the perfect training ground. Here I’m working on a jumping side kick (Twio Yop Chagi / 뛰어 옆차기) — combining timing, balance, explosive power and control while getting a little help from the sea air. 😄
Training somewhere different is a great reminder that Taekwondo is more than techniques performed inside four walls. Every surface and environment challenges your balance, coordination and body awareness in a slightly different way.
And, of course, getting the leg up is only half the job — landing under control is just as important! 😅

🥋 A memory from August 2018 — brought back to life with AI.
This takes me back to Cliveden, National Trust, in the UK. A peaceful spot beside the water, a summer day, and naturally… a little Taekwondo found its way into the moment. 😊
Eight years later, I used Grok AI to give that old memory a new sense of movement.
Watching it again is a reminder of something I have always enjoyed about martial arts: Taekwondo does not have to stay inside the dojang.
Movement can become part of everyday life — while travelling, exploring nature, spending time with family, or simply stopping somewhere beautiful and practising a few techniques.
Balance. Coordination. Mobility. Focus. And sometimes just the enjoyment of moving.
The surroundings may change and the years certainly pass, but the principles remain:
🥋 Courtesy
🥋 Integrity
🥋 Perseverance
🥋 Self-Control
🥋 Indomitable Spirit
Sometimes technology can do something surprisingly positive too: help us rediscover moments we had almost forgotten.

🥋☀️ Training in the Summer Heat — Could the Ground Help Cool a Home Gym?
Hot summer days can make Taekwondo, fitness, stretching and conditioning sessions much less comfortable—especially in a small home gym, garage or training shed.
I recently came across a lot of videos promoting earth tube cooling, sometimes called a Canadian well: outside air is drawn through a long pipe buried underground, where the cooler soil reduces its temperature before the air reaches the room.
The idea caught my attention because we have an old garage/shed that we may eventually convert into a small gym.
And the interesting part?
✅ The basic cooling principle really does work.
But after looking more closely at the complete project, the often-promoted idea of extremely cheap or almost “free AC” starts to look very different.
A proper installation also needs to consider:
💧 Condensation and drainage
🦠 Moisture and mould prevention
💨 Sufficient airflow
🌡️ Actual cooling capacity
🚜 Excavation and pipe installation
☢️ Radon and soil gases
🧹 Cleaning and maintenance access
💶 The real cost compared with a normal heat pump
For a training space, that leads to a much simpler question:
Is an expensive underground cooling project really the best place to start?
For many home gyms and smaller training areas, there are much easier things to improve first:
🌬️ Create good air movement and ventilation
🌡️ Monitor temperature and humidity rather than guessing
💧 Stay properly hydrated
🧊 Use simple cooling aids when useful
🕐 Train earlier or later on exceptionally hot days
🥋 Adapt training intensity and recovery to the conditions—especially for children and longer sessions
I explored the full earth-tube idea, realistic costs and the risks that many viral videos leave out in my new MartialTechLife article:

Sometimes the smartest training improvement isn’t another piece of equipment or a complicated construction project. It is understanding the environment, measuring what is actually happening and choosing the simplest solution that works.
