The Sierra Leone Football Association has successfully concluded a CAF C Diploma Coaching Course in Freetown, reinforcing its commitment to grassroots football and coach development.

The programme, designed for coaches working with players aged 12–16, covered modern coaching techniques, including tactics, training methods, and player development. It brought together participants from across the country for both theoretical and practical training in line with CAF standards.

Key SLFA officials, including Ishmail Saidu Kanu, John Keister, Sorie Ibrahim Sesay, and Elizabeth Kailey, attended the closing ceremony.

Kanu commended CAF instructor Keatu John Smith for delivering quality training and congratulated participants on behalf of SLFA President Babadi Kamara. Special recognition was given to female coaches, including Sarah Bangura and Hannah Conteh.

Former Leone Stars player Mustapha Bangura also praised the initiative, while Kailey highlighted the full scholarships awarded to all female participants. The course marks another step in building a strong base of qualified coaches to develop future football talent in Sierra Leone.

17-year-old Alexander Uribe of Hero Soccer Academy is on trial with FC Midtjylland.
