At 7:30 AM today, the Old Murialdo Boys Association (OMBA) celebrate there school @ 49th anniversary with a spirited unity work and jogging through the streets of Lunsar. The event brought together alumni, students, educators, and community members to celebrate nearly five decades of commitment to education and community development.

The anniversary celebration featured speeches from founding members and current leaders, reflecting on the association's journey and its impact on the community. Attendees shared memories, expressed gratitude, and reaffirmed their commitment to OMBA's mission.

Kelvin Doe Meets Kei Kamara in the U.S.

Kelvin Doe, also known as DJ Focus, is the first Sierra Leonean to build a radio station. He met football star Kei Kamara in the United States. Kei was training with his new team, FC Cincinnati, and Kelvin came to watch as a fan.

Both men come from Freetown, Sierra Leone, 🇸🇱💯 and are now doing amazing things around the world. Their stories inspire many people!

Three Confirmed Dead After Thunder Strike in Kono – Traditional Authorities Step In.

Kono District – May 14, 2025:
Tragedy struck late last night in a local community within Kono District, as a severe thunderstorm claimed the lives of three individuals, leaving residents in shock and fear.

According to eyewitnesses, the victims were struck during heavy rainfall accompanied by an intense lightning storm that lit up the skies around 11:00 PM. Community members rushed to the scene, but sadly, all three were pronounced dead.

In response to the tragic incident, local authorities have officially summoned Ariyogbo, the traditional spiritual investigators of Kono, to assess and investigate the circumstances surrounding the thunder strike. This move aligns with longstanding cultural beliefs that such events may carry deeper traditional or spiritual significance.

Chiefdom elders and family members of the deceased have called for calm as the community mourns and awaits the outcome of the investigation.

“We trust in our customs and believe Ariyogbo’s guidance will help us understand this tragedy,” a local chief stated.

Burial arrangements are currently being discussed, and the authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant during the rainy season.

Koidu Holdings and Octea Limited have issued a formal notice expressing their intent to take legal action against Sierra Leone’s First Lady Fatima Maada Bio.

According to the document, the companies allege:
- Defamation, libel, and malicious falsehood
- False accusations of corruption and bribery
- Incitement to violence and protests
- Unlawful interference with their operations
- Attempts at blackmail and extortion

They’ve outlined possible civil and criminal proceedings in:
- The High Court of Sierra Leone
- The Royal Court of Guernsey
- And potential extradition actions under ECOWAS laws via Nigeria.

The situation is developing, and this may mark a major turning point in the relationship between the government and the mining sector.

Who Will Wear the Prestigious Fundsmith Yellow Jersey in 2025?

The race for glory is on! For two years running, the Fundsmith Yellow Jersey—the grand sponsor jersey of the 11th Edition of the Tour de Lunsar—has gone to Pistop from Nigeria in 2024.

Now, it’s time for Sierra Leoneans to rally behind our local teams and bring this iconic jersey home! 10 local teams across Sierra Leone will race against three international teams on the three days event. International teams I’ll announce here early next week.

An Open Letter to the People of Lunsar and the Entire Sierra Leone Cycling and Sports Community

Today marks a proud and historic moment for our nation as the Lunsar Cycling Team Sierra Leone departs for Accra, Ghana to participate in the 2025 Ride Afrique. This afternoon, six of our finest cyclists embark on a journey not just to compete, but to fly the Green, White, and Blue on the international stage.

On April 19th, these dedicated young riders will take on riders from across the continent—carrying the hopes, spirit, and determination of an entire nation. Their presence at Ride Afrique is a powerful testament to how far cycling in Sierra Leone has come, and a promise of even greater things to come.

With 6 riders proudly representing both the Lunsar Cycling Club and the entire Sierra Leonean community, we send our best wishes to these champions-in-the-making. Race hard, ride with pride, and let your strength and unity echo through every pedal stroke.
