FOAMEX Veterans FC today recorded a memorable victory on our newly rehabilitated field after edging out a determined Junction One side in an entertaining and dramatic encounter full of quality goals, tactical battles and moments of brilliance.
The deadlock was broken as early as the 10th minute when Messi beautifully curled home a classy finish after a neat 1-2 exchange with Crespo @Crespo CT. The crowd erupted as FOAMEX drew first blood on their way to victory ✌🏽.
However, Junction One responded strongly and restored parity in the 28th minute to keep the contest finely balanced.
*Then came the moment of magic* ⚡️
In the 34th minute, the Organising Secretary, YY @YY Fmx produced what many are already calling one of the best goals seen in years. With remarkable composure, he expertly brought down a high-rising ball, leaving two defenders collapsing to their knees before calmly slotting a clinical finish into the top-right corner. A sensational individual dribble crowned with a world-class finish 👏🏾🔥
Unfortunately, FOAMEX’s celebrations were short-lived as a team error allowed the Junction 1 striker to equalise barely 30 seconds before half time. The first half ended 2-2.
With the game hanging in the balance, tactical adjustments became imperative as FOAMEX desperately sought their first victory on the rehabilitated ground.
The Coach of the day, Coach IB @Coach IB returned to the drawing board alongside Head Coach Sana @Coach Sana, making bold tactical decisions at the start of the second half. The introduction of the big man Pessima @Pessima Fmx in place of Manager Johnny proved decisive.

In the 70th minute, Pessima @Pessima Fmx took on two defenders under tight pressure before unleashing a magnificent finish into the top corner to hand FOAMEX the winning goal. A goal worthy of winning any match!

Notwithstanding, noticeable improvements are still needed from the big man Mr. Sow @Sow Fmx aka Engineer Sow 😅. Too many costly blunders from him today, and serious corrections will be needed to maintain his spot in future fixtures.
