In every child of Sierra Leone burns a candle — bright, hopeful, full of promise. 🕯️
For so long, a quiet thread has whispered that success lives only in the classroom. And yes, education is powerful. It opens minds. It builds knowledge. It shapes dreams.
But this poem reminds us of something deeper: the same flame that studies by lamplight also learns leadership on dusty fields and crowded courts. ⚽🏀
On the field, we learn discipline.
On the court, we learn courage.
In the game, we learn teamwork, resilience, and how to rise after we fall.
Education teaches us what to think.
Sport teaches us how to stand.
The candle is our potential.
The thread is the belief that there is only one path.
But when learning meets leadership — when books meet the ball — the flame does not flicker… it roars.
May we raise a generation that excels in the classroom and commands the field.
May Sierra Leone shine not with one light, but with many. 🇸🇱✨

SAGA hands over rim set to Saint Edwards Secondary School
On Thursday, 22nd January, SAGA.sl handed over a set of equipment that were originally donated by the Munda Foundation to Saint Edwards School.
This gesture even though little forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen infrastructural development, particularly focused on improving the school’s court facilities, and serves as a meaningful way of giving back to the school community.
The school administration extends sincere appreciation to the Munda Foundation for their generosity and to SAGA for facilitating the handover. Contributions like these continue to play an important role in fostering growth, development, and opportunity within our school communities.

DONATION FROM THE MUNDA FOUNDATION TO SAGA!!!!
We are excited to announce that the Munda Foundation, a new foundation whose founder is from Norway, visited us during our training session at the Saga Clinic. They took time to meet our coaches and players while practice was ongoing and saw firsthand the work being done with the kids.
Following their visit, the Munda Foundation generously returned with equipment to support and push our training forward. Their donation includes two balls, a rim, cones, ladders, training ladders, and bibs, all of which will greatly enhance our training sessions and help the kids develop their skills.
We are grateful to the Munda Foundation for their support and for bringing a connection from Norway into our community. Thank you for believing in the kids and investing in their growth.

THE SAGA TEAM AT THE PRINCE OF WALES SCHOOL
Ladies and gentlemen,
This is an official announcement from The Saga Team.
We are pleased to report on our recent visit to The Prince of Wales School, where our team conducted a vital physical assessment exercise for the pupils. With us was the founder of the Good eye foundation The purpose of this visit was to carry out essential measurements, including height, weight, and wingspan, as part of a structured developmental and health-monitoring initiative.
These measurements are extremely important. They help us to:
Monitor the physical growth and development of pupils
Identify early health or developmental concerns
Provide accurate data that supports sports development, talent identification, and overall student wellbeing
Establish benchmarks that guide schools, parents, and relevant authorities in making informed decisions about student care and physical education programs
We recorded a very good turnout of boys, which greatly enhanced the accuracy and value of the assessment. From the data collected, the average height of the boys measured was approximately 5 feet 2 inches. Notably, the tallest pupil measured an impressive 6 feet 4 inches, both in height and wingspan, while the shortest pupil measured about 4 feet. These variations clearly highlight the importance of regular assessments, as growth patterns differ significantly among pupils of the same age group.
We must also commend the excellent reception and high level of cooperation we received from the school administration, staff, and pupils. The students were receptive, disciplined, and enthusiastic throughout the exercise, making the entire process smooth and highly successful.
In closing, The Saga Team strongly emphasizes that this type of assessment is essential and should be embraced by other schools. Participation ensures healthier students, better planning for physical education programs, and early identification of exceptional athletic potential.
We extend our sincere appreciation to The Prince of Wales School for their outstanding collaboration and encourage more institutions to take part in initiatives of this nature.
Thank you
