Today, I had the privilege of attending the National Leadership Conference 2026 in Makeni. It was an inspiring and impactful experience that deepened my understanding of authentic leadership.

One lesson that stood out to me is that true leadership is not about power or position—it's about character, integrity, service, and leading by example. We also reflected on the pillars of authentic leadership and biblical principles that remind us to love God, love people, and lead with humility.

I leave this conference more inspired and committed to becoming a leader who serves with wisdom, honesty, compassion, and purpose. The journey of leadership begins with transforming ourselves before we can transform others.

Students and prefects from St. Edward’s Secondary School, Freetown, shared their views on some of the biggest challenges facing young people today: drug abuse, unemployment, and gender-based violence.

They called for stronger action against drug dealers, more job opportunities for graduates, and greater protection and support for young people across Sierra Leone.
