Another Oil Tanker Crash in Panliet, Awan this afternoon Due to Poor Road Conditions
Date: 19 April 2026

Another oil tanker has crashed today on the same stretch of road in Panliet, Awan — the exact location where a double tanker overturned and exploded earlier this month, killing more than 10 people and injuring over 14 others.

Eyewitnesses confirm that the double tanker lost control and the back tanker overturned due to the extremely poor condition of the road. The route is filled with deep potholes, uneven surfaces, and no proper drainage, making it dangerous for heavy vehicles to pass.

This happens in the same spot.
Residents and local leaders say the deteriorating road has become a death trap, with accidents occurring almost daily. Trucks, buses, and small vehicles all struggle to navigate the damaged section, putting countless lives at risk.

The community is calling for urgent government intervention to repair and upgrade the road before more lives are lost. Each day of delay means more families may suffer the same tragedy Panliet, Awan has already witnessed.

Local authorities are calling humanitarian responders for assessing the scene.
No casualties and injuries from today’s crash even the driver and the two passengers are all safe.

Speaking to Tonj Times, the local leaders within the area said, “We urge national and state authorities to prioritize immediate road maintenance in Panliet, Awan to prevent further loss of life”.
