South Sudan U23 defender Malual Leay will undergo surgery after suffering an ankle tendon rupture right before kick-off against Djibouti in Juba.

According to national team doctor Dr. Abraham Wani, the Atlabara FC player picked up the injury during warmups and was forced out of the lineup. Benjamin Laku came in as his replacement.
