Aweil East Commissioner Congratulates County Football Team on Tournament Victory

According to the official page of the Office of the Commissioner of Aweil East County, Commissioner Hon. Garang Thiang Deng has congratulated the Aweil East County Football Team following their 1 - 0 victory over Aweil West County in the Aweil Counties Tournament held in Juba on 10 July 2026.

In his congratulatory message, the Commissioner praised the players, coaching staff, supporters, and the people of Aweil East County for the team's outstanding performance, discipline, determination, and teamwork. He described the victory as a proud achievement, noting that the team had successfully defended its title by winning the tournament for the second consecutive year.

The Commissioner also encouraged the team to maintain the same spirit of unity and hard work as they prepare to represent Aweil East County in the upcoming Bahr el Ghazal Counties Tournament. He reaffirmed the county government's commitment to supporting the team in its future competitions.

Hon. Garang also commended Aweil West County for their strong performance and sportsmanship, wishing them success in future tournaments. He concluded by saying the county leadership looks forward to giving the victorious team a warm welcome upon their return home.

BREAKING: BCT President Joseph Majok Ayar Chieny Dissolves Entire Leadership, Relieves 46 Officials

The President of the Bahr El Ghazal Counties’ Tournament (BCT), Joseph Majok Ayar Chieny, has officially dissolved the organization’s entire leadership structure, relieving 46 officials from their duties with immediate effect, effective July 13, 2026.

The sweeping leadership overhaul follows the historic adoption and signing into law of the BCT Constitution and Rules & Regulations in Juba, South Sudan, marking the beginning of a new era of governance and institutional reforms for the tournament.
