The Commissioner of Bor County, Hon. Samuel Ateny Pech Ariik , has officially issued County Order No. 016/2026 , cancelling the recent letters circulated by the Bor Community Youth Association (BCYA) dated May 24th and May 28th, 2026.
Here are the key details from the official directive:
Disregard Previous Letters: The BCYA letters demanding the return of looted properties from Twic East County Youth within a 7-day ultimatum are officially cancelled and should be completely disregarded by both Twic East and Bor citizens.
Business as Usual: All Bor citizens living in Twic East County and Twic East citizens living in Bor are urged to continue with their normal daily and business activities peacefully.
Government Intervention: The Governor of Jonglei State, H.E. Dr. Riek G*i Kok, has already dispatched a high-level delegation—led by Deputy Governor H.E. Willson Awol G*ijang Awuol, alongside state ministers and security heads—to Twic East County to assess the situation.
Commitment to Peace: The BCYA is advised to cease writing letters that could incite tension. The government has reassured citizens that any lost property will be recovered and returned through official channels after proper investigations are conducted.
Commissioner Samuel Ateny calls upon the Commissioner of Twic East County and all citizens to maintain peace, foster sisterly relations, and protect everyone residing in or passing through both territories.
