🚨 GOOD NEWS: SPORTS FOR PEACE IN TONJ SOUTH

The Tonj South Football Association (TSFA), in partnership with TOCH Organization and KongKoc, is set to organize a Sports for Peace event from 5th–6th October 2026 in Tonj South County.

The event will bring together young people from different payams of Tonj South, alongside players from Tonj East and Tonj North. Participants will be combined into four teams to promote interaction, unity and peaceful coexistence.

In addition to football, the event will feature women’s volleyball competitions and traditional wrestling, providing young people with opportunities for positive engagement, talent development and psychosocial support.

Following a coordination meeting held on Thursday at the TOCH office, TSFA will take the lead in organizing and spearheading the event, with support from TOCH Organization.

TSFA appreciates TOCH for the initiative and encourages continued investment in youth activities as a way of promoting peace, social cohesion and positive youth engagement, while helping young people stay away from crime and cope with the effects of prolonged conflict.

TSFA calls upon all participating players to register, compete fairly and demonstrate the peace, unity and respect we all desire for Tonj South, Warrap State and South Sudan as a whole.

The general public is warmly invited to attend, support and cheer the young people during this important peace-building event.

🚨The Tonj South Football Association (TSFA) today officially kicked off its one-week Appreciation League at Tonj Freedom Square, with the opening match between Himango FC and Lion Star FC.

The match was officially opened by the Caretaker Commissioner of Tonj South County, Hon. Gordon Makuer Tiau, who encouraged players to promote peace, discipline and sportsmanship, urging them to demonstrate their talents rather than engage in violence or confrontations with referees and opponents.

As a sign of his support for sports, the Commissioner signed the match ball and officially kicked off the game. He stayed to watch the match and expressed his commitment to supporting TSFA and sports activities in Tonj South whenever possible. He also appreciated the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) for its valuable support to the football community.

Himango FC secured victory and advanced to the semi-finals, while Lion Star FC exited the competition.

APPRECIATION LEAGUE IN HONOUR OF DANISH REFUGEE COUNCIL SPORTS SUPPORT

The Tonj South Football Association (TSFA) is pleased to announce a one-week Appreciation League organized in recognition of the valuable sports support provided by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) to young people and football clubs in Tonj South County.

The league is intended to express our appreciation and gratitude to DRC while also serving as a preparatory competition ahead of the anticipated South Sudan Cup and Tonj Premier League. It will also provide an opportunity for clubs to make meaningful use of the sports equipment received through the support.

Out of the 12 sets of football uniforms received by the TSFA office, eight sets have already been distributed to the following clubs:

1. Himango FC
2. Lion Star FC
3. Jurkatach FC
4. Deng Nhial FC
5. All Salaam FC
6. Lienh-tong FC
7. Godzilla FC
8. Golden Star FC

The remaining four sets are currently with the TSFA office. The Association is working to secure the additional four sets needed to ensure that all First and Second Division teams can benefit from the uniform support before the commencement of the South Sudan Cup and Tonj Premier League.

The TSFA sincerely appreciates the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) for its support to our young people. The assistance has already created a positive impact within our football community and will continue to contribute to youth engagement, teamwork, sportsmanship and community cohesion.

While the support received has been valuable, the needs of our football community remain significant. TSFA manages 24 teams, with each team comprising a large number of players, including displaced young people. We therefore kindly appeal to people of goodwill, development partners, donors and the Government of South Sudan to continue supporting grassroots sports and youth development in Tonj South.

The TSFA recognizes that no single partner can address every need. The remaining gaps therefore provide an opportunity for other partners and well-wishers to contribute toward strengthening football and creating positive opportunities for young people.

Thank you, Danish Refugee Council, for standing with our young people and supporting sports in Tonj South. Your contribution is valued, appreciated and will remain remembered by the football community.

Official appeal for material support

Dear Greater Tonj and well-wishers

Deng Nhial Football Club - Tonj, respectfully appeals for financial and material support as the team prepare for the upcoming South Sudan Cup, Tonj Premier League and other organized competitions under the Tonj South Football Association.

The club proudly carries the name of the late hero William Deng Nhial who sacrificed his life during the liberation struggle of South Sudan. However, despite this historic identity, the club continues to face financial, material, and administrative challenges that affect its participation in competitions.

Therefore, the team urgently seeks assistance in the following areas;

1. Playing uniforms, training equipment, playing boots including footballs, cones, bibs and other essential materials.

2. Financial assistance for player's registration and other competition expenses.

3. Administrative support to strengthen management, coordination and accountability.

The team had been without a proper administration and we therefore ask the willing individuals who are looking forward to strengthen their coaching careers to step in and be part of Deng Nhial Football Club in Tonj.

We believe that your contribution, whether financial or material will help the club prepare effectively, compete with dignity, and promote youth development, unity, and sportsmanship in Tonj. It's sad that

🚨OFFICIAL COMMUNICATION TO ALL THE AFFILIATED CLUBS UNDER T.S.F.A

Subject: Important requirements for participation in the South Sudan Cup and other TSFA competitions.

The Tonj South Football Association (TSFA) would like to inform all the affiliated clubs, along with their administrators and management, about some important requirements that need to be fulfilled as we prepare for the South Sudan Cup, Tonj premier League and other competitions organized by the Association.

1. Players' Identification (ID) Cards;
The process of creating and issuing players' ID cards will kick off on 29th September 2026 and ends up on 6th October 2026. It is crucial that all clubs ensure their players complete this process during this timeframe without exception.

2. Club Management (Leadership) Structure;
Every affiliated club must have a clear and effective leadership and management structure in place. Clubs that do not have an approved management structure will not be allowed to participate in any TSFA- organized competitions.

3. Confirmation of membership and participation;
Each affiliated club needs to send an official written confirmation before 6th October 2026 to the TSFA office, stating its membership status and confirming its intent to participate in the upcoming SSD Cup, Tonj Premier League and other competitions.

We therefore, urge all affiliated clubs to take these requirements seriously and make the necessary administrative arrangements within the given timelines.
Proper preparation and adherence to these guidlines will help the Association finalize registration and competition logistics smoothly. The upcoming competitions, including SSD Cup, Tonj Premier etc will kick off once these essential administrative and organizational tasks are completed.

The Tonj South Football Association (TSFA) is absolutely delighted to express its gratitude to the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) for their amazing and impactful support of sports and youth development in Tonj South County.

On September 26, 2026, DRC generously provided us with a fantastic array of sports and recreational equipment, giving us the essential tools we need to boost sports activities and create new opportunities for our youth.

Thanks to this generous contribution, DRC has equipped us with:
1. 24 ( footballs and volleyballs)
2. 36 nets ( footballs and volleyballs)
3. 12 sets of jerseys
4. 8 sets of referees' uniforms
5. 18 ball pumps
6. 15 hand flags and 18 pairs of corner flags
7. 18 whistles

This remarkable donation from DRC goes beyond just providing sporting gear; it’s truly an investment in our youth, promoting inclusion, recreation, positive engagement, and mental wellbeing, especially for those who have faced displacement or the challenges of conflict.

TSFA extends our heartfelt thanks to DRC for understanding the transformative power of sports in bringing young people together, boosting their confidence, strengthening community bonds, and enhancing overall wellbeing.

The TSFA Office of Sports is dedicated to ensuring that the equipment donated by DRC is managed responsibly, safeguarded, and utilized effectively for organized competitions, training sessions, and approved youth recreational activities.
