أنشئت مدرسة(basket stars) من خلال المدرب مصعب الأخرس في صيف 2000.
وتُعلم هذه المدرسة كرة السلة للذكور والإناث من عمر /5/ سنوات حتى /20/ سنة,كما تستقبل متدربين أكبر سناً ممن يريد ملء فراغه بممارسة رياضة كرة السلة المفيدة.
تقوم مدرسة (basket stars)بترفيع اللاعبين المنتسبين لمدرسة (basket stars)سنوياً كلاً حسب قدراته,وقد أثبتت المدرسة نجاحها من خلال تزايد عدد المشتركين سنوياً ومن خلال رفد الأندية الكبيرة بلاعبين مميزين, علماً أن المدرسة بدأت التدريب ب/26/ لاعباً فقط وقد بلغت إحصائيات التسجيل في السنوات الأخيرة أكثر من /800/ لاعب سنوياً.
وتطمح مدرسة (basket stars)بتبني المواهب الرياضية النابغة ورعايتها رياضياً وعلمياً وصحياً.
إن مدرسة (basket stars)تهتم بلاعبيها وتضع لكل /10/ لاعبين مدرباً + مساعد مدرب,ودائماً تستخدم أفضل برامج التدريب وتختار أفضل المدربين بعد اختبارهم ومعرفة قدراتهم قبل توظيفهم.
كما أثبتت مدرسة(basket stars)نجاحها من خلال متابعة لاعبيها دراسياً بالتعاون مع الأهالي الكرام, واستخدام عقوبة منع المتراجعين دراسياً من الاستمرار بالتسجيل,مما أدى إلى تشجيع الطلاب المسجلين في مدرسة(basket stars)للمثابرة على التفوق بدراستهم لتجنب حرمانهم من الهواية التي يحبونها.
كما تنظم مدرسة(basket stars)بطولات محلية وخارجية,وقد حصلت على كأس بطولة المدارس الخاصة بتعليم كرة السلة بدون أي خسارة خلال البطولة التي استمرت أكثر من شهرين.
ومن الأنشطة لمدرسة(basket stars)القيام برحلات ترفيهية وعلمية تنمي من خلالها علاقة اللاعبين ببعضهم وتزيد معرفتهم بآثار بلادنا وأوابدها التاريخية,كما تقوم برحلات إلى أفخم المنتجعات السياحية التي تتوافر فيها الوسائل الترفيهية للأطفال تحت إشراف إدارة المدرسة.
ترسل مدرسة (basket stars)كل سنة عشرة لاعبين الأوائل المتفوقين علمياً ورياضياً برحلة خارجية على نفقتها,حيث أرسلت في عام 2007 اللاعبين المتفوقين برحلة إلى تركيا لمدة /6/ أيام وأرسلت أيضاً 12 لاعباً إلى اسطنبول حيث قضوا معسكر لمدة 13 يوم وأقاموا بعدة مدن تركية أخرى .
تؤمن مدرسة (basket stars)المواصلات للمنتسبين إليها لمن يرغب,ومن جميع أنحاء دمشق وبعض ضواحيها حيث يتم التدريب في مدينة الجلاء الرياضية - اتستراد المزة,ونادي قاسيون الرياضي في مساكن برزة وتطمح مدرسة (basket stars)لإقامة منشآت خاصة بها.
