Young Buffaloes Star Striker Njabulo Maziya Resigns

Young Buffaloes striker Njabulo Maziya has reportedly tendered his resignation ahead of the start of the 2026/27 MTN Premier League season which kicks off next month with the 8Bet Trade Fair Cup. Buffaloes are scheduled to face Piggs Peak Professionals in the Last 16.

According to sources within the army camp, Maziya, who joined Amathole Ezinyathi in February 2023 after an impressive goalscoring spell with his former club Madlenya informed the club’s top management of his decision to resign.

Sources allege that the striker told management he no longer wished to play for the team after the club allegedly failed to honour promises made to him before he signed. Maziya was also a notable absentee as Buffaloes players underwent their medicals today.

Several players who spoke to this publication on condition of anonymity also claimed that Maziya has left the club.

Meanwhile, when contacted for comment, Young Buffaloes Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sandile Gwebu said he was not aware of Maziya’s reported resignation explaining that he was currently outside the country.
