Thai kites & The Thailand IKF

Welcome to another kite team joining the Buriram International Kite Festival: “Team Sudsakorn”

This team is unique because it comprises kite instructors skilled in various kite styles, from central to southern Thailand. Besides their exceptionally intricate and creative buffalo kites, and their innovative kite decorations such as wood carvings, they also showcase other beautiful kites like Thai Bulan kites, Malay kites, and Chula kites. This team has proven its talent by winning numerous international kite competitions across Thailand, including those in Satun, Pattani and Yala. Beyond competing, the team also promotes Thai kite culture by organizing local kite competitions and teaching kite-making to students in various institutions.

ยินดีต้อนรับทีมว่าวอีกทีมหนึ่งที่จะมาร่วมเทศกาลว่านานาชาติบุรีรัมย์คือทีม “สุดสาคร” ค่ะ

ความโดดเด่นของทีมนี้คือ มีครูว่าวที่ถนัดว่าวหลากหลายประเภท ตั้งแต่ว่าวภาคกลางจนถึงภาคใต้ นอกจากความโดดเด่นที่ว่าวควายมีความปราณีต ละเอียด มีความคิดสร้างสรรค์ตกแต่งว่าวแบบใหม่เช่นการแกะสลักไม้แล้ว ยังมีว่าวอื่นๆ ที่สวยงามเช่นว่าววงเดือน ว่าวมลายู ว่าวจุฬา เป็นต้น พิสูจน์ผลงานของทีมนี้ด้วยรางวัลชนะการประกวดในสนามว่าวนานาชาติในหลายๆสนามในไทยเช่นที่สตูล ปัตตานี และยะลา นอกเหนือจากแข่งขันว่าวแล้ว ทางทีมยังสืบสานว่าวไทยโดยการจัดการแข่งขันว่าวในท้องถิ่นและสอนการทำว่าวแก่น้องๆ นักเรียนในสถาบันต่างๆ อีกด้วยค่ะ

ปีนี้มาด้วยกันทั้งหมด 2 ทีมนะคะ

1) SKYTERS - TAMIL NADU TEAM นำทีมโดยคุณ Benedict Savio ผู้จัดเทศกาลว่าวนานาชาติใน Chennei หากใครจำน้อง Leroy กับน้อง Leander ที่ร่วมโชว์แกว่งแอกปีที่แล้วได้ ปีนี้น้องๆ จะกลับมาอีกค่ะ เพราะน้องๆ ประทับใจงานบุรีรัมย์มาก 🙏 ปีนี้ทีมมาพร้อมว่าวแปลกตาที่แสดงสัญลักษณ์ท้องถิ่นแบบ TAMIL NADU ของอินเดียค่ะ ยินดีต้อนรับอีกครั้งนะคะ

2) The One India Kite Team ผู้จัดเทศกาลว่าวนานาชาติที่ Kerala นำทีมโดยคุณ ABDULLA MALIYEKKAL และคุณ
SHAHIR MANNINGAL ค่ะ ทีมนี้เดินสายในเทศกาลว่าวนานาชาติทั่วโลกนะคะ นอกจากนี้ทีมยังเป็นสมาชิกองค์กรว่าวต่างๆ เช่น International Kite Federation (IKF), Asian Kite Federation (AKF) และ the Kite Federation of India (KFI) ทีมจะมาพร้อมว่าวที่สวยงามหลากหลายชนิดที่มีเอกลักษณ์ค่ะ

เริ่มเห็นความนิยมว่าวควายในภาคอีสานแล้วนะคะ แล้วก็สวยแบบมีเอกลักษณ์อีสานด้วยค่ะ

โดยเฉพาะแอกว่าวควายทางใต้เป็นแบบเดียวกับมาเลเซีย, อินโดนีเซีย ในขณะที่ว่าวควายอีสานใช้สนูแบบเดียวกับกัมพูชา เราเลยจะเห็นว่าวควายอีสานที่มีเสียงไพเราะแบบว่าวสองห้องค่ะ

We don't just showcase our kites at international kite festivals. We also have projects to develop and sustainably preserve kites, such as the Beramas Kite Academy, the Phra Ruesi Trineth Chulapakpao kite development project with Rajabhat Somdej Chaophraya University, the Burong Nibong kite research project in collaboration with Rajabhat Yala University, and the Buriram International Kite Festival, which fosters sustainable competition. We also have networks of kite masters in Thailand, including those involved in Phra Ruang Sukhothai kites, Buffalo kite at Songkla and so on, to organize competitions aimed at truly elevating the art of kite flying.
