to “Reach out to people of any age in Enterprise with hearts of compassion, hands in service, thoughts in prayer and mouths speaking the message of the freeing grace of Jesus Christ”. CORE OBJECTIVES:
• To influence the culture and life of the community through the explosive power and message of Jesus Christ;
• To foster unity amongst member churches to fulfill their God given mandate;
• To create awareness and promote accessibility of the Ministries in the community;
• To establish Prayer as one of the foundational pillars in fostering a culture of peace and stability in the community and nation as a whole;
• To support community members in resolving challenging issues and finding peace amongst themselves and with God;
• To restore the Family unit and promote godly lifestyles and choices;
• To engage the community in activities to foster harmony, restore wholesome values and the fear of God;
• To promote godly role models and mentors in the society;
• To develop initiatives and interventions as mechanisms to alleviate - crime and violence, youth delinquency, poverty, illiteracy, racial dissonance, anti-social behaviour and all forms of abuse. PROGRAMMING:
The Churches in Action Foundation hosted several outreach programmes to date targeting the family unit, youth and children, including:
- CIA PRAYER CRUSADE - 2010 to 2020 - To be continued. This Annual Crusade with a Prayer focus is a week long event which was held at several venues in Enterprise to date: Freedom Street (2010, 2014), African Grounds (2011, 2017, 2019), Chrissee Terrace (2012), Longdenville Basket Ball Court (2013), Bhagaloo Trace (2016), Crown Trace (2015, 2018); Facebook Online during the Pandemic (2020)
- MONTHLY PRAYER MEETINGS - 2015 to 2020 - To be continued. Hosted at a different church venue each month.
- LET PRAISES RISE - WORSHIP CONCERT - 2018, 2019 - a fund raising initiative.
- HEALTH & CAREER FAIR - 2018 - Booth exhibitions from several service providers including christian counselling services, health, fire, police, ALTA, Dojo, Nestle, YTEPP, free hair cuts, sporting activities, horse back riding etc. The programme included the Ministry of Word and prayer.
- WEEKLY PRAYER MEETINGS - 2017 - These sessions were held from April to July at the Freedom Street Band Stand in response to the spate of crimes in the community. A different Church led each session.
- CIA PRAYER WALK – 2012, 2017 – The key milestones of the 2012 walk were from Freedom St to Enterprise St to Chrissie Terrace to Crown Trace and ended at Jimroy Wyse Park. The 2017 walk comprised community groups and was from Freedom Street to Chrissie Terrace.
- ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! STREET MEETING - 2015 - In response to the spate of violence in 2015, the Churches consolidated to host five (5) meetings at strategic venues between Chin Chin Junction and KFC Montrose - held simultaneously.
- BOYS DAYS GIRLS DAYS – 2015 – Participants competed in long time sporting activities including pitching and other modern day sporting activities. The aim was to build the family structure and foster a united community.
- CIA FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT I & II – 2012, 2014 - Held at the African Grounds, The aim was to unite the community through Sport. The programme included daily motivational speakers – from former T&T National Footballers or Pastors with special prayer for reconciliation in the community.
- A CHILD SHALL LEAD THEM – 2011 – This event of over 400 children took the form of a Gospel Concert, Puppetry & Fun Activities which was hosted and fully executed by children. The aim was to positively influence the life choices of the children through a programme executed by their peers. THE EXECUTIVE:
