Tobago Launches Road Safety Caravan Following Rise In Student Accidents 04/06/2026

A sincere thank you to TTT Live Online for highlighting the launch of the Traffic Management Unitโ€™s Road Safety Awareness Caravan.

With a noticeable increase in traffic incidents involving children, this initiative seeks to better equip students with essential road safety knowledge, including the proper use of pedestrian crossings, understanding traffic signs and signals, and safe practices when travelling to and from school.

Yesterday, Tuesday 2nd June, ๐’๐œ๐š๐ซ๐›๐จ๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ ๐ก ๐‘๐‚ kicked off the road safety educational series: "๐Œ๐ฒ ๐‰๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง๐ž๐ฒ ๐ญ๐จ ๐’๐ž๐œ๐จ๐ง๐๐š๐ฒ ๐’๐œ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ: ๐’๐š๐Ÿ๐ž ๐’๐ฆ๐š๐ซ๐ญ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐ญ."

This series, launched by the ๐“๐ซ๐š๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ ๐Œ๐š๐ง๐š๐ ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐”๐ง๐ข๐ญ of the Division, in collaboration with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service-๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐”๐ง๐ข๐ญ, focuses on building awareness among students regarding pedestrian safety, safe road-crossing practices, transport safety, hazard recognition and responsible road use through interactive and engaging activities.

๐“๐ก๐ž ๐‹๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ž ๐“๐จ๐›๐š๐ ๐จ ๐‰๐ž๐ญ๐ญ๐ฒ was recently assessed by ๐’๐ž๐œ๐ซ๐ž๐ญ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐š๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ๐ก๐š ๐‚๐ก๐š๐ซ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ-๐๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐ง, ๐€๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐Œ๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฌ๐š ๐‰๐š๐ฆ๐ž๐ฌ-๐†๐ฎ๐ฒ, and the Divisionโ€™s technical team as part of a wider programme to evaluate jetties across the island and inform future repair and rehabilitation works.

Little Tobago marks the first stop in this ongoing assessment exercise.
