Under the calm midnight skies of Tobago, PaceLink Run Club made its mark at the Trinidad & Tobago Midnight 10K (Tobago Edition) β€” an event that brought together grit, endurance, and pure love for the sport.

Head Coach Christopher Mitchell continued his impressive 2025 season with a 2nd place overall finish, clocking 32:41 on the fast, scenic course at the Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort. The humid night conditions made pacing tricky, but with the crowd’s energy echoing through the resort β€” β€œGo Chris! Go Chris!” β€” he pushed through with precision and purpose. πŸ’ͺ🏽

Not far behind in excellence, Alexia John delivered another outstanding performance, capturing 1st place in the women’s division in 40:21 β€” a new personal best! 🌟 Her run was smooth, confident, and strategic as she gears up for the upcoming UWI Half Marathon. While her teammate Onika Brereton showed true determination to finish 3rd overall πŸ₯‰ β€” rounding off an incredible night for Team PaceLink

Coach Mitchell shared:

β€œThis race reminded me why I love what I do the atmosphere, the energy, the people. Tobago delivered something special. Flat, fast, and full of life β€” a course I’d recommend to anyone chasing their best.”

From the warm hospitality at Magdalena Hotel, to the lively post-race entertainment and flawless organization by BAFA Sports, this was more than a race β€” it was a celebration of Caribbean running spirit.

Congratulations to all participants, and thank you to BAFA Sports, the Tobago House of Assembly, and all sponsors for making this night one to remember.

πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ‡ΉπŸ‡Ή Race Recap: Les FoulΓ©es des ApΓ΄tres de la Paix Half Marathon – Guadeloupe

The race kicked off around 3:15 p.m. under a blazing Caribbean sun β€” temperatures soared to about 34–35Β°C, and the heat was intense from the start.

When the gun went off, the pace was fast. Nicholas Romney from Trinidad & Tobago took the early lead, while I held back, knowing the heat and the hilly course would punish anyone who went out too hard. I settled around 8th position, staying patient.

As the race unfolded, I began working my way through the field β€” by the first major hill I moved up a few places. Around the 5K mark, I passed the athlete from El Salvador and found myself in 4th place. Ahead, three athletes β€” one from Trinidad and Tobago, one from Martinique, and one from Guadeloupe β€” were locked in a battle, about 300 meters up the road.

I tried to close the gap, but the combination of relentless heat, rolling hills, and steep climbs made it a true test of endurance. From that point, I was running solo for the rest of the race, giving my best effort all the way to the finish line.

Despite the conditions, the support on the streets was incredible β€” the locals cheered, handed out water, and made every runner feel welcome. It was my 3rd international race representing Trinidad and Tobago this year, and I’m proud to have finished 4th overall, with my teammate securing 3rd place β€” a strong showing for our country πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡Ή.

After the race, we were treated to amazing hospitality β€” good vibes, rhythm sections, delicious local food, and a warm atmosphere that reminded me why the Caribbean running community is so special.

A huge thank you to the organizers of Les FoulΓ©es des ApΓ΄tres de la Paix Half Marathon for the invitation and their incredible care throughout the event. It was truly a privilege to compete in Guadeloupe, and I look forward to returning in the future.
