The SCC October Time Scramble Blitz Tournament concluded on Saturday 18th October 2025 with remarkable displays of tactical brilliance and strategic mastery. The event brought together passionate chess players of all ages who competed with enthusiasm creating an atmosphere of friendly competition and camaraderie.

The tournament crowned several deserving champions who demonstrated exceptional skill under pressure. Reaz Ali claimed the first place prize with an impressive 6/7 points. Following closely were Joshua Johnson and Marcus Joseph, who also secured 6/7 points. The future of chess looks bright with young talent like Caleb Harry, who captured the under-18 prize, Arav Adam (Under-16), Ty Humphrey (Under-14), Joshua King (Under-10). Congratulations to you all.

We look forward to many more such gatherings, where chess continues to create lasting memories for players of all ages and skill levels.

The SCC extends deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of our very own chess giant, Mr Roderick Noel. We say thank you Mr Noel, for all your work and contributions to chess in Trinidad & Tobago over the many decades you were part of it. Mr Noel will be greatly missed. May his soul rest in peace.
