ROXBOROUGH, Tobago - C&B United produced a dominant weekend of cricket to book their place in the final of the Tobago Cricket Association 40 Overs Tournament after victories over Tobago Police CC and Roxborough Strikers.
The Canaan/Bon Accord-based club first secured a commanding six-wicket win over Tobago Police CC in the Eliminator played on Saturday 16th May at the Shaw Park Recreational Ground. Left-arm spinner Jaime Boyce starred with the ball, producing a sensational spell of 5 for 6, including a hattrick, as Tobago Police were bundled out for just 97 in 23.2 overs. Shaquille Thomas supported with 3 for 21 while Donavan Roberts grabbed 2 for 37.
Khislon Dillon top scored for Police with 33 while Dilleon Smith made 18, but the batting lineup struggled against the disciplined C&B United attack.
In reply, C&B United comfortably chased the target, reaching 98 for 4 in 13.5 overs. Aaron Alfred led the way with an unbeaten 43 from 36 deliveries while Simmons Peters contributed 32 from 27 balls. Opening batsman Ashaughn Pierre provided an early spark with a quick 12 off 6 balls.
The following day, Sunday 17th May, C&B United returned to the Roxborough Recreational Ground for the Qualifier against Roxborough Strikers and continued their impressive form with a 59-run victory.
Batting first, C&B United posted 214 all out in 38 overs led by Ashaughn Pierreโs classy 66 from 68 balls. Aaron Alfred added 38 while Marcus Daniel chipped in with 24. Roxborough Strikers replied with 155 all out in 28 overs despite 47 from Jason Persaud.
Jaime Boyce again led the bowling with 4 for 41, while Mikal James took 3 for 23 and Marcus Daniel 2 for 27.
C&B United will now face defending champions Scarborough/Mason Hall CC in the final on Sunday 24th May at the Roxborough Recreational Ground from 11:00 a.m.

C&B United finished the Tobago Cricket Association John Pollard Two-Day League in a commendable second place, highlighted by outstanding individual performances. Opening batsman Ashaughn Pierre led the scoring with 324 runs, while left-arm spinner Jaime Boyce delivered a superb campaign, claiming 36 wickets.

Ten year old Nial DesVignes made his debut for C&B United in today's match in the ongoing T20 Tournament in Shaw Park, Tobago.
The team was captain by his father Anroy DesVignes, and C&B was able to secure a victory against Bago Gladiators Cricket Club.
Chasing 135 for victory, Antonio Prividence (81) top scored, while bowler, Keon Isaac nabbed 3-19 in the innings. C&B United won the match by 4 wickets!!

Antonio Providence delivered a stellar performance on day one of Round 3 in the Tobago Cricket Association Two-Day League, leading C&B United with both bat and ball. He claimed an impressive 4 wickets for just 8 runs, including a sensational hat-trick, while also contributing a crucial 60 runs. His all-round heroics propelled C&B United to a 65-run lead over Bago Gladiators.
