Burkina Faso has officially reopened its national stadium in Ouagadougou after a four-year closure, unveiling a fully modernized facility that meets international standards.
The grand ceremony drew the presence of iconic African football legends such as Cameroon’s Samuel Eto’o and Rigobert Song, Togo’s Emmanuel Adebayor, and Nigeria’s Jay Jay Okocha.
The stadium had been shut down after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) deemed it unfit for international matches due to poor infrastructure.
Following an extensive $300 million renovation, it has now been transformed into a state-of-the-art sports arena compliant with both CAF and FIFA regulations, signaling a new era for sports in Burkina Faso.

PATSON DAKA SENDS MESSAGE TO LEICESTER CITY MANAGER WITH TWO GOALS FOR ZAMBIA.
19th October, 2023.|
Patson Daka continued to send a message to Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca with two goals for Zambia in their 3-0 win over Uganda on Tuesday. The Zambian international has yet to play a single minute in the English Championship this season, but he has been in excellent form for his country, scoring six goals in the last six games under coach Avram Grant.
Daka scored his opener from the penalty spot in the first half and added his second in the other half with a well-Headed goal. He was a constant threat to the Ugandan defense, and his performance was a reminder of his quality.
Leicester have made a good start to life in the Championship, winning 10 of their first 11 games and sitting top of the table. However, they have struggled to score goals at times, and Daka could be a valuable asset to them if he is given the chance.
Daka had failed transfer moves away from Leicester in the summer transfer window, but he has remained professional and focused on his performances for both club and country. His two goals against Uganda showed that he is still a top striker, and he will be hoping that Maresca will finally give him a chance to prove himself in the Championship.
It remains to be seen whether Maresca will give Daka a chance in the Championship. The Italian manager has preferred Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho in attack so far, and it is difficult to dislodge them from the starting lineup.
However, Daka's performance for Zambia should give Maresca food for thought. The Zambian is a proven goalscorer at the highest level, and he could be a valuable asset to Leicester in the Championship.
If Maresca does decide to give Daka a chance, he will need to be patient with him. Daka has not played much football in recent months, so he may need some time to get up to speed. However, if he is given the chance, Daka has the potential to be a star player for Leicester in the Championship.
